I noticed =)

As you weren't back up to full speed, nor had you said anything like "Hi I'm back" I presumed you simply had managed to get access to a PC and weren't home yet. So ... welcome back !!!!

gfox is due for an update of his own soon enough but this should tide you over till then. All based on this morning's stat pull, so they're bound to be off a bit by now:

49 3695 xwaynecoltx
50 3636 flameclock
51 3617 the_phantom_spancker
52 3605 biteme2514
53 3587 evil-c
54 3538 uncle_dave

Congrats to:

fixit on his promotion to Elite Guard General (3rd)
Denvish on his promotion to Elite Guard Praporshchik (33rd) &
FlameClock on his promotion to Elite Guard Master Sergeant (~55th)

since the last update of the list.

Welcome to:

FlameClock, he of many names, ages, and genders apparently...

Farewell to:

Spancker. What I foretold has come to pass, alas.

DANGER ZONE:

Spancker WASN'T fine, as it turned out. As I've been warning him ever since he got on this list, he'll be back off it and complaining that he's not on it if he doesn't move his butt. Sadly, his "short" absence from NG has resulted in 0 blams and 0 protects since my last update, and not only has FlameClock jumped way over his head in blams, but biteme is about to pass him (5 blams behind when I pulled his stats). If things keep going this way, biteme will be the next person on the top 50 blams, and spancker is going to face a harder and harder time of getting back on than he did of GETTING on in the first place! Egad.

Anyway, FlameClock's in 50, but unless biteme can turn on the heat before FlameClock can move up to 49, he doesn't have much to worry about with spancker temporarily dead.

Greg's Notes:

Well, as I said before, not many rankups. All the people moving on and off the two lists, however, have reduced the number of people on BOTH lists from 37 to 36 (spancker and drimarki lose their ***s, but fortunately Denvish gains his, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been). As I mentioned over in the other list, a neat bit of info I noticed while pulling stats is that DrMSM's popularity rank is 999 and DarkStirFry's popularity rank is 1004, just 5 apart! Woot.

D0GMA was active on this list as well, jumping over poxpower and helldoll for #14

Captain Bob gained on this list, jumping over chaotic and XkwiziT for #20, similar to leeboy's jump on the other one

Syme moved up slightly, but enough to stay ahead of the pack of wolves behind her, sliding to #27

stafffighter also slid up one, to #28

but Denvish MASSIVELY JUMPED over several people, moving from 36 to #30

and courtday FREAKIN' GRAVITY BOOTED past almost 10 people, from 40 to #31

Other movement occurred, but let's face it, after Denvish and courtday, the rest looked like they were standing still...

You may check out the most recent Top 50 Protectors List by clicking the link I just posted. Enjoy comparing the lists to each other and to the Top 50 Combined B/P List. People on both the Top 50 Blammers List and the Top 50 Protectors List are denoted with ***.

I noticed you were posting (everywhere but here on the Wi/Ht, though... what was up with that, damnit?), but you didn't seem to be moving much on the top 50 list. Figured you were just posting and not voting.

Looks like you're kinda screwed with the voting still with the new panel, eh? Ah well.

Anyways, before people start asking me how my vacation went, I want to know which number I am on this list. I know I'm not in the Top 50, but I also know that you guys keep track of this kind of thing, so what number Blammer am I?

Dogma handled it, but you'll notice I also mentioned you being in 52 (well, I didn't say it outright, but I mentioned that you were 5 points behind Spancker, and Spancker's now 51, so it doesn't take much to put 2 and 2 together).

Anyway, why were you so sure you weren't in the top 50 blammers yet?

If it hadn't been for FlameClock speeding onto the list, and if I'd taken the stats just a bit later, you might have passed Spancker yourself to enter today's update at #50. :::shrugs:::

Speaking of FlameClock, you may as well disregard the addendum from my e-mail. The flashes in question got deleted, but he didn't, so I presume he just got a nasty note to "fly right" from Wade.

Anyway, here's the numbers actually worked out rather than just the "guess-at-a-glance" I was doing.

Over the next few weeks, presuming paces remain consistent, things should look like this

5 September:
9 9100 Grid
10 8425 Recon
11 8050 gfox
13 7500 D0GMA

12 September:
9 9425 Grid
10 8625 Recon
11 8300 gfox
12 7825 D0GMA

19 September:
9 9775 Grid
10 8825 Recon
11 8550 gfox
12 8150 D0GMA

26 September:
9 10100 Grid
10 9025 Recon

Just one problem. Where are you getting your "presumed paces" from, anyhow? As I just complained an hour ago in your topic, I was away from any computer for 56 hours over the weekend, and that deeply hurt my perday average for the week. If you based my blams per day on this past week, then you based wrong.

Grid recently expressed a "fuck it!" remark about blamming and saving that made it look like he was gonna quit poxpower-style. Remember? The whole Joe vs. him thing in your thread, I believe?

So I think you've overestimated his blams and underestimated mine.

Unless I get offered a job within the next week, those blam amounts are too low for me. 250 per week? Blah, way more than that. :::nods:::

Holy crap. I was a lot closer than I thought I was. I thought for sure that I would've dropped a few hundred spots while I was away on vacation but I guess not. But wait, if I'm #52 now, and (assuming that) I dropped a little on my vacation, was I actually on the Top 50 Blammers List at one point? Just curious.

I took it over the past 2 weeks. I presumed that would, over the course of the next month, give a reasonably accurate estimate of the variable times we'll all have available here.

Yes. I had nothing to add to the converstaion so I simply stayed out of it. I'll believe he's given up on it when he starts getting 5/day average. Only time will tell =)

Entirely possible.

Could be. I thought I was running 500/week, but with the down time I had this weekend, I dropped to 325 over the two weeks I considered. Maybe I am underestimating me too lol

Good thought, but no. courtday, dl_Monk, FlameClock, and spancker all recently made the list. You've been closing the gap and passing people in the process, but the speedies overtaking you had been minimizing your gains so that you never quite made it on. Xwayne might be the better target to aim for if you are trying to get on. He's been relatively inactive and so is less of a "moving target" to be chasing after.

Well, if I get busy or something, then it might. But like I said, 56 hours. That's probably about 200 blams I missed out on... 2 weeks is better than 1 week, but I'd guess the avg. shoulda been more like 350 blams per week than the 250 you credited me with. #;-}>

True, true. I'm more concerned, however, with getting MY average up to 100/day for just one freakin' week. It's been so long since I've maintained that rate for longer than 2-3 days.

The world of NG's Graveyard is an oft-neglected bit of real estate hereabouts.

I think a lot of people who leave reviews on blammed flash never check back to see what other people might have said to the author (or to them!). I often interact with other reviewers, especially if I think they're blamming it for the wrong fucking reason, or I think it should be protected.

and I often save noteable graveyard flash pages to my hard drive... say, if there's some funny reviews, or 20 people bashing the poor author... things like that. #;-}>

what don't you save on your hard drive?? =P

That's a good question...

Hmmmmmmm... Pretty much everything except for terrorist manuals and kiddie porn. Everything else goes straight to the hard drive. :::nods:::

But on a regular basis...

I save profile screenshots, I save top 50 lists on every update of them (when I can), meaning 5 per day usually (3 top 50 b/p, 1 top 50 exp, 1 top 50 popularity),

I save screenshots of blams and savior screens (i.e. final vote moments),

I save postcount landmark screenshots (like the 2700 I'm about to hit),

I save funny flashes that are getting blammed if they're worth watching again or as a kinda testament to the horrible shittiness of some flash...

I save shortcuts to good threads on the BBS.

I save profile shortcuts for use in my top 50 lists and so forth...

I save the text file I keep all of my blam/save/exp/ranks info in, the txt is open all the time when I'm on the portal...

and I think that about covers most of what I save from NG on a regular basis.

I save sports game recaps from sportsline.com, too. And some news articles. That's mostly it from the rest of the net.

beh! I end up staying away from the BBS for 48 hours, and the top 50 blams list falls off the front page, with the top 50 protects nearly joining it?! An outrage! OUTRAGE I TELL YOU.

Ahem... anyway.

I haven't slept all night, and I missed a ton of points yesterday while sleeping all day. Lieutenant Colonel's gonna take me a bit longer than I thought to get to, but I DID pass 8000 blams, and am thus approaching Recon.

:::nods:::

Don't make any more approximations, though, Dogma. My tired brain will just fry trying to decide if they're too high or too low. I'd rather we just all pass each other when we pass each other, and let time take its course.

Just felt like bumping this up to the top again. Probably should say something useful so I don't get banned for bumping threads lol

Erm, let's see, oh, 7500 blams and 13th now =)

Hopefully that's on-topic enough lol

Okay, apparently someone organised a boycott of this topic. I'll let it die after this last reply (well, except that I'm ranking up later today, and I'll probably do an update on both lists either then or tomorrow, but heh... aside from that. I guess when I complained about how sometimes the pages in my topics flip too fast and bury the actual lists, I got what I said I wanted... a perfect medium would be just enough posting to keep this on the front page, but not enough to overwhelm the lists... eh... you can't ever get QUITE what you want #;-}>)

At 8/29/03 12:58 AM, D0GMA wrote: Anyway, here's the numbers actually worked out rather than just the "guess-at-a-glance" I was doing.

Over the next few weeks, presuming paces remain consistent, things should look like this

5 September:
9 9100 Grid
10 8425 Recon
11 8050 gfox
13 7500 D0GMA

8061 right now, on 2 September, and I'll definitely be hitting 8100 today (going for a 8100/7400 split to hit the 15500 for LtCol). I'm guessing it'll be more like 8200 by 5 September... (oh, and BTW, you're at 7501 right now, so... methinks you did underestimate yourself as well with these estimates)

12 September:
9 9425 Grid
10 8625 Recon
11 8300 gfox
12 7825 D0GMA

More like 8500-8600

19 September:
9 9775 Grid
10 8825 Recon
11 8550 gfox
12 8150 D0GMA

More like 8900-9000

26 September:
9 10100 Grid
10 9025 Recon
11 8800 gfox
12 8500 D0GMA

And more like 9300-9400 by then.

Then again, GridLock doesn't seem to be destined for the 10,000 blam mark, even if his account is... and Recon may pick up the pace or slow down.

But yes, I know... I still need to look back over my shoulder for ya. #;-}> You'll probably be at 9000 by that last date.

... you decided to post to this WHILE I was typing up a post in it....... ALL a day after the post I made after 2 days of nobody posting here?

That's incredibly coincidental. #;-}>

Erm, let's see, oh, 7500 blams and 13th now =)

And I even mentioned your blam count in my post. Are we on the same wavelength or what?

Hopefully that's on-topic enough lol

Close enough. Refer to my post for my on-topic blam-rate estimating fodder. :::falls over:::

Oh well, it doesn't matter. I'm making it a goal of mine to get on that list soon. You can count on seeing me up there in a few days. Besides, now that I'm back from that vacation, I'm ready to waste more time on Newgrounds going back to my old ways. I'll try and post here more often too, but it's just that I rarely have anything to say...

Well, you'll probably be on the list in a week, but since I'm updating it right now, I'm afraid your presence won't be noted in a couple days when you estimate you'll actually be #50.

Good to see you back around. You should get out more from that horrible clubs&crew board. #;-}>
