I take it you replied to me and Coop's convo right there before reading my latest addition to it, in which I mentioned that ramagi stopped at 75k. #;-}>
Ah yes, 75k it was.

Sorry, my bad.

Also, Coop... why is it silly to think of any user besides the 1st or 2nd users to a landmark number... retiring, either temporarily OR permanently... at said number?
Maybe he thinks everyone should continue no matter what? :P

It's like people like life and carmelhadinosaur retiring at exactly 30,000 B/P - they've just got the most badass voting power that they can achieve with their current Experience and they're just going to let it go to waste?!

That's a likely story, but then he shouldn't even call it a landmark if the #1 person gets to it. Since to him, stopping on landmarks is so antithetical to b/ping spirit and all. #;-}>

Personally, I think everyone ahead of me should 'do a Dream-of-Duke' and stop. Let me past and never threaten my conquest of this place ever again. Time to put the megalomaniac side of me to bed for the day, I've got work to do...

You can use your VP to raise and lower the scores of any of the 10s of 1000s of other movies in the portal besides UJ movies, yanno...

Because I said that she stopped at 70k, ergo I was wrong.

Yeah, but it's not the same as the god-like power of life-or-death over the new entries >:)

Yeah, I'm just concentrating on my next target, who is milinko959 - a recently retired member. Once I pass him, I'll be very close to JerkClock as well.

Why are we talking about Saves? I'm getting confused here!

Great day for Blams yesterday - 32 is the most Blams in 1 single day that I've had for over 18 months.

Yeah, it can seem like it's going to take an age to get there, but I think that if you have some days like I had yesterday, you'll be on here within about a year.

Coop's Blams list 02
First month rolls around quickly, doesn't it?

Here we are with the first of the regular proper instalments of this update. As you will have probably noted from the Saviours list, I've made it into 3 posts, each containing 50 in a mini list. Hopefully everything will run smoothly, now that I've sorted out how to spell phileeguy correctly.

shunshuu has knocked Dream-of-Duke down from 100th to 101st. There was no movement in the gap between 50th and 51st, nor were there any new entries :(

Serious Blamming going on there. I'm glad to say that of the top 150, only 11 were gaining faster than me. Not bad for a part timer :P

I'm tracking 200 Users with 10,000+ Blams. If anyone has any idea about anyone else who should be on this list, let me know and I'll add them to the spreadsheet. Special thanks to Casualty for his legendary programming to make my life a fucking shitload easier.

I'm only getting told off by the servers for posting too quickly now :P Got to love administrative computer programs, haven't you?

Hmm, at first I thought my pace was terrible. But it seems like I haven´t done that bad compared to a lot of other users, especially not since I´ve been on a one week holiday. Normally I would´ve had well over 300 =)

I knew I'd forgotten something. I'll have a play tomorrow while I'm at work and prep something to post tomorrow evening, as I've not got the flash drive with me at present. My apologies, but I was getting a little pent up over the Reviews

Pace isn't going to be massive on this list for a while. I'll be really impressed if someone manages 1,000+ in a month.

Just depends on how you sort out with the other inactives. Luck factors in quite a bit.

Well, he's given me the same one that is used for Bahamut and the B/Pers / pentalist updates. I need to speak to him about the responses one, but yours should be fine to sort.

Yeah, I'm just concentrating on my next target, who is milinko959 - a recently retired member. Once I pass him, I'll be very close to JerkClock as well.

Cool, cool.

Why are we talking about Saves? I'm getting confused here!

Because I haven't gotten a single blam (for this account) in nearly 3 years, so blam talk bores me most of the time? #;-}>

Great day for Blams yesterday - 32 is the most Blams in 1 single day that I've had for over 18 months.

Okay, if you wanna talk blams, I've allowed gfoxclock's blams to exceed his saves. I logically figure that when I do hit 36k saves for gfoxcook, saves will still be easier to get than blams, so by voting naturally with gfoxclock on both blammable and saveable movies and games... 50:50 will be attained sooner or later anyway, and I won't have handicapped my blamcount on gfoxclock (and thus my savecount as well) so much.

I suppose. Thanks for the update, congrats on your sophomore effort (I was gonna call it sophomoric, but then... yeah, damned connotations #;-}>)!

Here we are with the first of the regular proper instalments of this update. As you will have probably noted from the Saviours list, I've made it into 3 posts, each containing 50 in a mini list. Hopefully everything will run smoothly, now that I've sorted out how to spell phileeguy correctly.

I thought it weird you called three 50-line chunks of a single list... "mini lists," but then I saw you gave each one a title or motto or whatever you want to call it. Clever little touch. Gonna expand that to yer other lists? #;-}>

shunshuu has knocked Dream-of-Duke down from 100th to 101st.

There was no movement in the gap between 50th and 51st, nor were there any new entries :(

I've done an all-nighter once and I kinda regretted it. I just felt depressed as fuck and wanted to rest. I even went to Liverpool that day and was falling asleep on the bus.
I've done 'em... dozens of times. Unless you make it a requirement that no sleep happens until normal bedtime the next day, of course. But I don't require that to happen for an allnighter to be called an allnighter.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I was playing on Silent Hill during that allnighter, so that made me hallucinate Silent Hill things when I was falling asleep.

At that time, yes, but now, it's 70k7.
Well, that's actually much cooler than 70k2, then, eh?

Of course it is.

Did you really get 5 more saves from voting to save yer own flashes? IIRC that's what you blamed those first 2 extra saves on...

No, just 3 flashes. The other 4 points I got were for blams from flagged submissions being deleted.

That's what initially screwed up my 36k/24k moment. #;-}>

And you asked liljim to take some points off, right?

Haha, good thing it wasn't my permanent stop. I'm still aiming for 77777. So to avoid sudden B/P gains again, I'd have to stop at around 77600 incase of more sudden gains.
77700 should be sufficient. Wait a few weeks while going slow, save by save, refreshing teh profile constantly. #;-}>

Yes, but remember when B/P'ers gained about 100 blams due to all the flagged submissions being deleted? That's why I think getting a few points at a time from 77600 is more appropriate than 77700.

That's not the reason to want my wrongness to stay with me as a perfectionist. It's the nitpicky wanting-everything-to-be-as-it's-suppose d-to-be part of perfectionism that should take care of that.

While being truly perfect would be great... since it's impossible, the perfectionist must admit to the imperfections lest he be shown to be imperfect in the area of honesty, no?

He can try to eliminate them all he wants, but as long as they're there... they must be admitted to when noticed and talked about by others, even if not himself.

Eh. Megalomaniac. #;-}>

You had mentioned your own megalomania a post or two up in our quotechains elsewhere in this topic, so I just felt I should back you up on that where fitting. #;-}>

Too slow for my liking. Seeing those little bastards get what is coming to them is very satisfying. I wish they still used the Blam and Saves movies :(

But slow and steady wins the race. The whole tortoise and the hare thing. I thought you were the main promoter of that idea when it came to b/p.

1166 blams, 1130 saves.

I got him to 1130/1130 last week and then let the blams continue upwards as I filter the saves to gfoxcook and (some) blams to gfoxclock.

Back a few months ago, his saves were around 1122 and his blams were around 990.

Well, I need something to work for the Saves list. So far, all I've got is "Save me", by Queen.

Oh, you can think of way more than just that, I'm sure. You've got to allow for the term "protect" as well, of course.

Part 1 - Blamunation
I'm hearing GTA:SA commercials in my head right now...
Meh, I was always more of a Vice City guy :P

Oh, don't get me wrong, Vice City and Vice City Stories will always be my fave GTAs of the PS2 generation. I prefer them to III's Liberty City or SA's three cities.

However, I'm playing SA now because I got it back last October, and I played VC to like 98% completion years ago and VCS to around 50% last year and wanted to take a break from Miami for awhile.

I'll be back before long to mop up VCS, though, worry not.

I'm just getting getting to city #2 in SA, so I've got a ways to go before I'm even 50% in this...

But anyway, the ammunation radio commercials from SA are more fresh in my head than the ones from VC and VCS, that's all.

Actually, I found this pun by listening to Weird Al - The Alternative Polka. A highly entertaining song.

Weird Al parodies R.E.M. and NG at the same time in that song? O_o

Number of the Beast just came on my iTunes party shuffle as I started replying to your post in this multi-quote, BTW. COINCIDENCE?

2921 songs for iTunes to select from...

No, just 3 flashes. The other 4 points I got were for blams from flagged submissions being deleted.

Oh, okay.

And you asked liljim to take some points off, right?

No, ramagi offered to ask Wade to, and I accepted her offer.

Yes, but remember when B/P'ers gained about 100 blams due to all the flagged submissions being deleted? That's why I think getting a few points at a time from 77600 is more appropriate than 77700.

Good point. Depends on how many flagged submissions you think you've gotten inadvertantly mixed up in, then.

I've gotten to the point where if I know for sure something's gonna be flagged, I tend to pass on trying to save it, just so I can trust my totals more.

But I was talking about changing the face of the top 1000 (I won't claim top 50, because that's... kinda hard for one user to have power over) flashes on NG.

I personally have drug up all 9 parts of BEEBO over 1000+ votes on EVERY SINGLE ONE.

That's the slow and steady I'm talking about. It doesn't have to impact b/p at all. Unless you're literally spending 24/7 on b/ping, being the river to NG's top 1000... is a whole other realm to UJ voting.

So I'm not sure... what you meant, I guess.

Quite slowly, I'm happy to note.

If I'd loved 24 that much.... I might have retired at 24k/24k and been done with it forever, but... that sure would have required a whole lot of holding off on blams back when they were plentiful. Hm...

That's true, but that still leaves me with very few songs and / or puns.

Eh... we'll see, I guess.

ALL RIGHT.... we're gonna do.... PARANOID.... let's go!
On Guitar Hero? Nice, but I think that song has been overplayed at my girlfriend's almost as much as Even Flow, by Pearl Jam.

Nah, just quoting Ozzy's off-the-cuff shouts to the audience prior to the live version of Paranoid (with Randy Rhodes) back in the early 80s, that's on the Essential Ozzy 2-disc set I have and was listening to via iTunes at the time I was typing that post. #;-}>

As for GH3... my top 6 most played songs are:

Muse - Knights of Cydonia
Dragonforce - Through the Fire and Flames
The Killers - When You Were Young
Heart - Barracuda
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Smashing Pumpkins - Cherub Rock

Easily my fave six to play and listen to both in that game, though some others are close behind (a few more of the extras, Bulls on Parade, Number of the Beast, Cult of Personality, etc.).

Close to #4 but probably won't make it. =(

So close yet so far, eh?

You know, you're less than 1k away from the dormant MPA. I know he's outgaining you by a factor over 2 to 1, but... you COULD do it, if you really wanted to.

Either way, you'll be back to #5 in the end. But I know the feeling of preferring to go 5-4-5.... rather than 5-6-5... so...

Charlie Daniels - The Devil Went Down to Georgia
Pearl Jam - Even Flow - Took me an absolute age to perfect on Medium.

You don't have to "probably" it if you just sign up for a guitarhero.com account and link it to your online GH3 account. Then you can see your "most played songs" right on your profile page. Check out mine:

http://www.guitarhero.com/accounts/26271 0

(scroll down to the very bottom, above the miscellaneous text bits at the bottom is a tiny scrollbar window called "Favorite Song List"... I just wish it listed the actual playcounts on each song. Only counts towards that popularity ranking if you finish a song, BTW, starting and quitting a song (or restarting it) doesn't count towards the invisible tally)

Of course it is.

Number of the Beast just came on my iTunes party shuffle as I started replying to your post in this multi-quote, BTW. COINCIDENCE?

Not really. XP

2921 songs for iTunes to select from...

That's more than what my MP3 Player has.

And you asked liljim to take some points off, right?
No, ramagi offered to ask Wade to, and I accepted her offer.

Ah, I see now.

Yeah. So going slow will help.

If that fixes yer b/p list rank issues, that would be ever so keen.

It certainly would. I did mention to him about it, but he claims I could get the program to do it myself. :S

And add to that all 14 episodes of season 4, which I had to watch on TEH INTRAWEBS. But ABC's streaming HD is pretty decent, actually, so aside from the forced mini-commercial breaks, it wasn't so bad.

That's 55 episodes of Lost out of... I think 84 total episodes.... in the past couple of weeks. MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... I'm glad I've finally made up for falling out of the show back about 7 episodes in to season 2. ;_;

Actually, one time back in high school, my sis (in middle school at the time, she's 4 years younger) woke me up on the couch and told me that I'd been mumbling things like this in my sleep:

"Yeah... give me the burger... no, no pickles... no pickles..................."

Now yes, I like burgers (and chicken sandwiches) without those damned sliced pickles... I'd rather have a nice big un-cut deli pickle on the side than ever inside a sandwich or burger, but...

man, I was either having a very strange/very mundane dream... or the words that were coming out of my mouth really had no actual relation to my dreams. Which I suppose is quite possible, despite the stereotype of people in movies waking up while shouting something "they" were saying in their dream. #;-}>

Actually, the list was fine as a top 100. For my own personal stat whorage, I established my incarnation of the list with the top 150 users, so that I am on the list.

The reason I have so much respect for Auz is that he's not on either of the lists he updates. That takes someone who loves stats, but hasn't quite managed to jump onto the lists.

Silent Hill > Resident Evil
Story/Atmosphere-wise, it certainly sounds like it. What about gameplay wise, though?

I guess Resident Evil has an advantage with RE4, but the gameplay for Silent Hill is much better than the old RE gameplay. Those controls were annoying, especially in those damn camera views. I mean, left/right to turn around, down to go backwards and up to go forward is fine on the old Tomb Raider games because the camera is always showing behind Lara. But for Resident Evil, it's a fucking nightmare. I'm so glad they changed things around on RE4.
