Coolios. So top 100 is not out of the question, even if you feel top 50 is too far off to shoot for right now. GROOVEH.

Top 50 is within reach - it will just take me some time to get there. Patience ;)

You never know, if I don't get the call up for the cricket match on Saturday, I might be spending some time with this list... Where did I leave that template?
!!!

Sorry, didn't mean to make you choke on your Reese's bar then :P

It was there, he noticed again and thought "Oh yeah,. I'd better reply to it."

Also, I'm guessing LockClock won't come back for another Blammers update. I wonder if I should take over.
Looks like you and Coop might have to fight over it!

Part of the plan, that may or may not be divulged at a later date.

Nah, Coop's bump was just a reminder to reply to your post THEN.

Anyway, no worries. I'd rather you forget to reply to me in topics like this... than in the main topics I concern myself over, continuous-conversation-wise (pentalist, VP, LUL... in that order).

Of course, if I somehow didn't reply to your posts in those threads (unless it was your inactivity's fault) for months, I'd feel ashamed of myself.

Also, I'm guessing LockClock won't come back for another Blammers update. I wonder if I should take over.

Nah, no need to fight over it. Coop already made plans to revive the Blammers update before I did, so it's only fair that he does the updates, unless he gives it up or asks me to cover for him when he's busy. That is what we agreed on.

General forum? Yuck!
Ewwwww.

Now we understand. All traces of General forum must be eliminated.
Infection. Infection. Delete, delete...

BTW, I was just editing the last lines of Magica Reprise on Dio's Magica album there.

Yeah, 75k/75k would be cooler, but do you know what would be even better? 100k/100k. :)
25k more blams, though. Surely that's impossible nowadays.

ALMOST impossible, yes. :(

I really wish they would knock out that 50 vote for blam rule.
Would be swell. gfoxclock is almost up to 50:50 parity on blams and saves, though. Less than 10 away now.

Without that rule, Toohot100 or my main could get more blams again. I think if they did that, the blam to save ratios for most users could be balanced.

It doesn't seem to do much much trapping to me. :P Heh, especially Encyclopedia Dramatica, because their humour gets too tiring after a while and leads me to moving away.
Yeah, but I always see their lame links that are to something different than the text that's a link, if you catch my meaning. i.e. text in one article will say "also known as *being a loser*..." Where *being a loser* is a hyperlink to.... OMGFAIL article or something. #;-}>

I sometimes wonder if someone has made an article about me there. Why? Because I sometimes feel I'd be someone they'd pick on.

Coop's Big Blams Update
Ah, the Blams list. Once a vibrant hive of activity, with the artists of the portal fearing the wrath of Denvish and ramagi,to name but two of the esteemed members found within. Of course with the changing nature of the portal and the shift in the balance of power toward Protection, we find this list has fallen into disrepair.

*wipes off hands on a greasy rag for effect*

Well no more!

I've knocked up a rudimentary spreadsheet over the last few days, and performed stat pull between 1300 and 1500 this afternoon. What can I say, but I got caught up with actually working, for a change :P Having only LockClock's last update to really get my teeth into, I've reduced the list to 150 users for the time being, as when I can be bitehred to, I'll be trawling through data courteously supplied by gfoxcook from his pentalist update and who knows, this might become a top 200 again.

"Technically" we welcome pwroftheseagoat and Auz to the top 150, since they've never been there before. They displaced Hemlok and jujmcint.

That's a very pretty update you made there! I'd wondered where the blam list had been when at once, I see you updated it! Awesome...

Also, 'stat pull'. Is that what I think it is? ;]

No - had it been what you were talking about, it would have taken me far less time, I'm sure :P

I don't have the stuff I need on the office computer at work, but the opportunity was there. I might try it for the responses update next week, however :)

If I get enough members of the list to make it worthwhile putting 200 on there, I will certainly consider upping the users displayed, as is also being considered for the Saves list. I think that 150 is a good number to start with and if anyone knows of any 10,000+ Blams people who may or may not be being tracks, feel free to advise me.

Well no more!

!!!!!!!! WHOA!

WOOT!

"Technically" we welcome pwroftheseagoat and Auz to the top 150, since they've never been there before. They displaced Hemlok and jujmcint.

Why the technicality-mentioning? If they joined the top 150 in time for your update, then.... they joined the list in time for your update, and a welcome would be standard procedure, yes. #;-}>

Yes. So no 100k/100k, then. TIS AGREED.

THAT I agree with. However, at least Denvish is only 30k away from it. Perhaps not close enough, but it's the closest out of 'em all.

Without that rule, Toohot100 or my main could get more blams again. I think if they did that, the blam to save ratios for most users could be balanced.

Perhaps it always has been, but the past few posts before that one where I reacted as above you sounded like some of the top 50s you are headed for but years away from... that you didn't care too much to set your sights on them, and that didn't sound like the Coop I know. Clearly you were just talking about them in less... excited a manner than you talk about the top 50s you've just hit or are about to hit, and I suppose that's natural. After all, I'm gonna hit level 55 someday, and it's my fave level I've yet to get to... but I'm not going to act super excited about it day after day when it's years away... I'm more likely to sound excited about an achievement I'll attain long before then, even if it's not as valuable to me. #;-}>

It just seemed logical, as accoring to the B/P ranks 51+ list, she was the first to 70k B/P, followed by MPA, I think. Seems silly to remember someone else stopping at 70k B/P for any reason.

Oh, hi Bahamut :P

Huh? I thought she stopped at 72,000 for awhile, not 70,000. I was just thinking of that while replying to Bahamut.
It just seemed logical, as accoring to the B/P ranks 51+ list, she was the first to 70k B/P, followed by MPA, I think. Seems silly to remember someone else stopping at 70k B/P for any reason.

Oh, hi Bahamut :P

Heh. Well, his love of teh 7 certainly explains it, to some extent.

Meanwhile, I'm planning on parking my ass for all eternity on 72,000, which while not as cool a number as 60,000 was... is 36k times two, and that's the whole point, so... my preference for 72k over 70k... is probably as strong as Bahamut's preference for 70k over 72k. O_O

I'd look up the historical record on teh ramagi and MPA and 70k and all, but... I TOO LAZY.

Perfectionists ahve to plan ahead. Otherwise we'd never get anything done. A lot of planning has gone into the first day of me riding my bike to work today, for example.

Well, the B/P ranks 51+ has a major issue - it doesn't document the top 50 until both ramagi and MPA have passed 70,000 B/P Inconvenient, to say the least.

It's a lack of forward planning, I tell you!

How much planning do you need to do to ride a bike somewhere? You mean you'd previously biked it to see how long it took, or something? Or tried different routes to find the best one for whatever reason or reasons?

You're such a silly, I wasn't referring to using the EGRL for info.

I was referring to going through my old top 50 b/p list saves, but they're on the other hard drive.

Oh wait, though... I do have that backup CD-ROM right near me here that I pulled all those pics to post in NEVR's screenshot archive thread... lemme check now.

Had one what? A blam? #;-}>

Or an account with blams?

HOW CONFUSING.

...

ANYWHO... Here we go, Coopster, let's take a look for who retired where... when...

Argh... teh most recent top 50 b/p update from my CD is 20041029.... and it shows:

1. 49,503 fixit
2. 47,612 ramagi
3. 45,200 gfoxcook

Some good that is, aside from showing us where fixit retired. #;-}> Now, of course, it bears mentioning that ramagi did originally retire at 36,000, long before I had my 36k save or blam retirement ideas, of course. From 20031204:

1. 36,000 ramagi
2. 35,765 fixit

And then a few days later, that robot usurped her crown (on 20031207).

Okay, so lemme go back to my old desktop and find teh info since then, to find ramagi's 2nd (of 3 total now, of course) retirement point.... or to see if anyone else maybe stopped at 70k if it wasn't her:

GOT IT.

10 days after I stopped at 60k, ramagi stopped at 75,000 exactly, on 10/20/2005.

She then unretired on 11/13, less than a month later.... and on 11/27 MPA passed her for #1 shortly after she had passed 76k.

And of course, later on, in 2006, Denvish passed MPA for #1.

Now, I didn't check every damned top 50 b/p list, but I think it's safe to assume that no one retired at 70k more than "momentarily."

ramagi's stop at 75k was nowhere near as long as her stop at 36k or at 100k, but it was a stop nonetheless.

So anyway, we were all wrong. It wasn't 70k OR 72k, it was 75k, like Buster wants to stop at. Heh.

So, the longest retiree on 70,000 B/P to date has been Bahamut? That's what we wanted to know, so we can say that it's safe for him to start again :P

ramagi's got the longest at 36k and 75k records wrapped up (for now), and I'm already soooooo far ahead in the 60k category that no one will ever pass me, likely.... now, on to 72k for a new record time!

Having Diesel bills going up past £1.25 per litre, so around £5.50 per gallon is ridiculous. If I bought the bike and used it regularly, I can save about £350 - £400 per year, which can be better employed on other activities.

I'm giving myself a hard time by replying to these posts at 2 in the morning. Good thing us Brits have bank holiday Monday. Otherwise, I'd be asleep now for work placement the next day. I do have some things to do on bank holiday such as seeing relatives. Some I've either not seen in ages or haven't seen once in my life.
Nothing wrong with staying up till 2 (if not later) on a weekend night, man.

Well, there is to me, because then it'll be harder to get up in the morning and then I wake up later. I don't ever want to go back to the days when I slept 'till 1PM. Phew, good thing work placement stops that from happening.

Hope you're enjoying the relatives-meeting today.

There wasn't as many relatives there as I thought there would be. I thought there'd be 20, but there was only 6. Oh well, the day still went out great.

Speaking of big milestones, I'm happy standing at exactly 70k B/P. :) When will I resume B/P'ing? Not just yet.
Congrats. Found yourself a nice and cozy temp retirement spot, eh? Enjoy.

Indeed, but sadly, I'm no longer at exactly 70k now.

I was far from the first person to 60,000, and I'll be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY far from the first person to 72,000, but that didn't stop me from retiring at the former for 1.5 years, and it won't stop me from retiring at the latter for an indefinite period of time! No, it is wrong for me. I'd hate to wake up ridiculously late again like I did back in November. However, at least I got some rest that night rather than pulling an all-nighter.

I've done an all-nighter once and I kinda regretted it. I just felt depressed as fuck and wanted to rest. I even went to Liverpool that day and was falling asleep on the bus.

Haha, good thing it wasn't my permanent stop. I'm still aiming for 77777. So to avoid sudden B/P gains again, I'd have to stop at around 77600 incase of more sudden gains.

I've done 'em... dozens of times. Unless you make it a requirement that no sleep happens until normal bedtime the next day, of course. But I don't require that to happen for an allnighter to be called an allnighter.

At that time, yes, but now, it's 70k7.

Well, that's actually much cooler than 70k2, then, eh?

Did you really get 5 more saves from voting to save yer own flashes? IIRC that's what you blamed those first 2 extra saves on...

or was it from whistled stuff you voted to save getting unwhistled and save credits finally cashing in?

That's what initially screwed up my 36k/24k moment. #;-}>
