I used to be missing a lot of people for 1 or even 2 updates at times many months ago. I'd usually find people BEFORE they got to my list, but sometimes I'd find out too late, and add them after they should have been already added.

It just hasn't happened often recently, that's all.

Besides, unlike say Dogma's list, where all the gaps are evident, any gaps on this list appear NOT to be gaps because I don't have an actual blam rank or save rank stat from NG to see that I'm missing someone, eh?

So that has the dual effect of making these two lists appear more "perfect" than they should, but also of making it harder for me to know where mistakes/gaps are. It's a double-edged sword, but ANY non-automated/non-official-NG list is an inaccurate and human endeavour.

I doubt given the relative completeness of D0gma's list now that you've got anyone missed out. AFAIK it's complete up to Sergeant Majors, so you're not likely to be missing anyone. So to say that the list must be inaccurate (barring the moongod oversight) wouldn't be truthful. Similarly, seeing how Dobio and myself got stats for our lists from the horse's mouth a bit ago, they were accurate at one time.

Will go and have a look at the protectors list now.

It's all good...I don't check this one very often at all.

Yep. Although I still think you can reach the other one quicker, despite the lack of saves on the portal right now.

Just remember to compare yourself to #49 on today's update here, since Brainy is technically #51, not #50.

That's true for now, but by "inaccurate," I wasn't just referring to possible gaps or missing people from the lists but also to the fact that I can never update everyone's stats at once. By the time I get to the last person I check stats for, many of the other people have gained points no matter what time of day I run the update.

That's all I meant, that I can't be as perfect at creating a snapshot of a single moment in time as the official top 50 b/p list is. Perhaps someday liljim will create official top 50 blammers and top 50 saviours lists and put me out of my inaccurate misery, though. #;-}>

Nowhere near as good as making this one, at least in the near future. While I'm 800 or so away from this list, I'm 1200 away from the protectors list. At my present blam:save ratio, by the time I got those 1200, I'd have something like 3500 extra blams...

I'm not that worried about it - the big one is getting in the top 50 combined, and I'm about 2,100 points and 20 places off that. If I cross that barrier, your two lists will come eventually. It's just that the blam list will come first. Nothing to do with my voting patterns, as they just reflect the amount of crap that comes into the Portal :-(

We had someone in the military last year who posted that they were getting shipped off to Afghan. That's been on my "at some point" list for a while now ... that I'll go through my posts and figure out who that was, fire off an e-mail and see how they are. Separate from that, I think it was Browncow who said he was getting shipped out as well, although I think he was headed to Iraq. There was a "goodbye" thread of some sort ~a month ish ago in General I never got around to replying in so it'll be harder for me to find that one, but it's on that same list of mine.

Although, if you slow down at all, the blam #50 is going to move away from you much faster than the save #50 is... so there is that. Anywho... There's no way the combined could come before both my lists, man. Unless you had the perfect balance of saves/blams that matched the ratio between the 50 spot on one list with the 50 spot on the other, that is, in which case you would make all three at about the same time.

No, like I just said... with your skewed balance of blams well over saves, you should be making this list before the combined.

By that, BTW, I don't mean that an update of this list with you on it will necessarily predate your appearance at #50 on the combined list, just that technically you will already be on this list by that time, even if I haven't updated it. Just as _Newt has been on this list for a long time, just not in one of my updates until today.

Aside from _Newt and moongod, all the other people who needed to be added were in the ranges you miniupdated 8 days ago.

Anyway, good luck jostling with her for position here, but keep in mind, while she did rise more than you did, and is a bit ahead of you, you DID move up from #49 to #43, which isn't too shabby, and it means you're solidly on the list now, with no danger of falling off soon, unlike other people...

What is? The stat for how many blams the whole top 50 list has in my update? That's a bit misleading, because if all 50 of us blammed the same movie, that counts as "50 blam points" even though it's from only one blam. #;-}>

The only stat you need know is that we have barely 40,000 movies in the portal right now, even though we're up to 163,000+ movies submitted. So... around 125,000 have been blammed.

Well, the 51, 52, 53, etc. are only estimates. I don't track the ranks of anyone beyond #50 when I do updates, so when I add new people in a big clump, I simply give them fairly arbitrary "last update ranks" based on their current blam/save counts for each of the lists.

You happened to be the strongest person entering the list, in terms of blams, so you got to be #51. You were presumably also the first one to enter after last update, although I suppose it's possible someone else did and then slowed down and you passed them... but I doubt it, considering the margin you had on everyone else who was new (just compare your blam total on this update to all the other 50+ "last update ranked" people.
