i need help on making games

i need help on making games, i want to make a game on a pokemon version with all of the proper spriting and all of the battles (kinda like my own version for computer) i am clueless when it comes to action scripting and i badly need some help!!!!! if you read this and think you know how to help, just reply my forum!!!!! thanx!!! bye then!

If you're 'clueless when it comes to actionscripting', dont start off with trying to make a game. Learn the basics, dont dive into the deep end. It's exactly like learning a language, you cant just start trying to write a book in a langauge you dont know, you have to learn it, which takes time.

Variables, events, if statements, for statements, movieclip control... the list goes on. It's not gonna be like writing

like trig said, dont start with somthing so complex. you should just start by making simple things, watching tutorials, reading books and using AS:main. theres so much you need to learn before you start making a game like that, it takes time.

ok, i know that it would take time, but how long do you think that it will take for a beginer to have the knowledge to start making a game like a pokemon version???

Dude everything takes time. Im 13 and a beginner in flash but your really aggrivating.

Just look on the flash tutorials in the collections tab

A good idea is to go to the adobe site and download the book on Action Script so you can learn it.

Another would be to use the tutorials to get a basic understanding on it, THEN downloading the PDF off of adobes site.

First off, calm down with all the '?' and '!'s. It's really annoying to see this "hey help me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Secondly, we all don't need to know your age. 14 is nothing, because I and a bunch of other people started Flash at somewhere of the age of 12, and started making "advanced" stuff by 14, your current age. So nobody is going to go easy on you because you're 14. 14 is an old enough age to have enough common sense to read some tutorials and use a little something called GOOGLE.

Wow, way to misread everything I told you and take some advice. First, don't tell people to piss off, especially when they didn't say anything mean to you in the first place. Secondly, stop promoting yourself by telling everyone to check your movies in 2 separate threads. I didn't SAY you weren't doing fine for a beginner.

And just so you know, I DID suck when I started out, I never said I didn't. Who doesn't suck when they started out.

All I'M saying is that you need to stop acting all "go easy on me I'm 14 I'm a noob I need help" and go on Google, take people's advice, look for tutorials, and do some constructive work that will help YOU get better. Sitting around in a forum telling people to piss off because you don't know what to do is not productive...

ok, i'm sorry for getting angry at you, i am taking peoples advice and have been on many tutorials, been to the AS page and have gone on many websites, i am just starting out and i need help, is that to much to ask, your making it soundlike its a crime, i am in the forum page to get links to sites and tutorials, do you realy think i made a subject in here so i can just do this, i have got some valuable information and i am a lot better at action scripting now!!!

I'm also 14, but i don't act like a dumbass on the BBS. stop using so many !'s. there are 12 year olds here that are better than me on actionscript. age doesnt matter when it comes to these sort of things.

Dude...tutorials are located here. In the Actionscript main. View the beginner ones to learn the basics.

The first thing you should learn in action script is timeline control. It is pretty simple, learn it.

Once you feel more comfortable with AS and want to make that Pokemon game of yours, you'll want to look at:

AS: _x and _y
AS: ClipEventsAS: Hierarchy
