Use our music in a flash and win!

Hey there you Newgrounders!
(For those who saw our post in the Audio forum, it has been moved here for administrative purposes...)

We thought about a contest idea involving our music and free merch. The concept would be pretty simple: Use our music in a flash movie, and win free stuff! We would select the best flash animations, and thoses would be eligible for a prize and a front page spot on our website!

The contest isn't fixed yet, but how would that be? The winners would win free autographed T-Shirts, Cds, posters...

Any ideas?

I think its a good idea, maybe u can give away that flash newgrounds made that turned into a real console game on n64 as one of the prizes (if anyone has it) i think it was called alien homonide.

Can you link people to your website... it would suck if its just a band account on mySpace... or a freewebs....

It's a nice idea, but I'm not sure giving out T-shirts and posters of yourselves and signed by yourselves is really a huge motivator to people who aren't already fans. On an unrelated note, your sound is also really similar to bands already out there (although since there are apparently so many of them, it must be a popular style). Good luck with your contest, though, I'm sure there are people out there who will be excited to join.

We dont have any photos at this moment of all our stuff, but it's comming very soon. We're pretty busy theses days with our album being recorded and our show being planned/played, but we're going to devellop this contest the best we can.

Hey ppl!

Here's some more details for the contest... We'd like the flash animation to be the regular size (around 500x500), with an medium-high frame rate. From 16 to 22. The more colorful and representative the flash can be, the best it is. Feel free to be experimental, but nothing that would suggest mature content such as sexuality or racism.

BTW, For those of you who lives in Montreal, or close enough, we're on show the 12 of October, at Le Studio Juste Pour Rire On St-Laurent. We're the first part for The Bravery. The tickets will cost around 20$ so we can't wait to see you there!

I like the whole idea, and your music is rather interesting sounding. It needs a bit work, but I don't quite know if anyone would want to make an animation for your songs. Maybe, someone will use it for a collab or something. Good luck, though.

i like this thread as well.. i think regardless of wether anyone goes for it or not.. its a cool concept that bands that trying to make a splash are considering newgrounds amateur talent as a possible source.
As an anecdote, one of my longest running clients was george clinton and it started off with some silly contest (that paid beans) but i dug the music i dug the concept and so i went for it.. it grew to large scale projects with larger budgets hanging out backstage at concerts and other cool things..

if you dont like this opportunity thats cool, go elsewhere.. its not for everyone.

Hmm... does this guy look like an alt to anyone else? Especially considering 2/3 of his posts are only in this one topic? It kind of looks like he's going to make you guys do a flash using his music, and not follow through on the prizes... I wouldn't do it, but, that's just my opinion.
