Tell me what you think of this.
People who burn flags are protesting how displeased they are with the government, yet by burning the flag they are only exercising their right to do so.
So in a way they are actually advertising how great of a system America has, to allow someone to do that, which completely defeats the purpose to begin with.
Anyways, yeah, just a thought I had.

Yes, they are.
Funnier yet, imagine the government saying; "You can't burn flags anymore" And then the flag burners say "Oh Thank god, a policy change in the right direction; Thanks, we love you"
On a moving train there are no centrists, only radicals and reactionaries.

People would still burn flags, regardless of legality, it's just an absolutely ridiculous thing to outlaw. People protest, which is a right protected by the Constitution, but that doesn't necessarily mean they advocate government.

It's stupid symbolism. Who cares about the bloody flag, burn it, I don't care. It's just a symbol that represents a nation, but that's all it is. It is NOT the nation itself, and you shouldn't care about it.
If you copied your Soc. Sec. numbers on a white piece of cloth and burned them, would you care? They represent YOU.
We were trained since childhood to care for the flag, but it only leads to nationalistic ideals and bigotry. Kinda like the Bratz in High School who grow up thinking that they are the best of the best because of the way they dress or act and then hate everyone else. Same is true here. People adhore the flag and treat like shit anyone who doesn't fit into their club of flag worshipers.
Don't get me wrong, I like the flag. It's beautiful and nice to look at, and it's way better than having a number or letters to represent the USA, but it's only a friggin sign.
Besides, if you haven't burned a flag you should try it. If you are uptight, try it with your rival team. It feels awesome to hold a burning flag and run really fast. And the video is awesome. Can you see the awesome trail of fire and smoke?
Sorry. No EDIT button. :(

It's nowhere near as awesome as making that same trail with your rear tires :P

You just explained it in your first post, symbolism. Its not the burning of the flag, but the action taken against a symbol of the country. It would be like as if someone spit at your feet to taunt you.
Kinda like the Bratz in High School
Did you just compare being proud of your country to a fictional 13 year old girl movie?
People adhore the flag and treat like shit anyone who doesn't fit into their club of flag worshipers.
Woah, what kind of line did you create? There are more than flag worshippers and flag burners that have an opinion about the flag.
but it's only a friggin sign.
I'm guessing you dont have much pride for anything do you?
Faith tramples all reason, logic, and common sense.

That's one way to say the glass is half way empty...
I would like to present the half way full:
Funnier = People who dislike flag burners because they're saying America's rights and freedoms are so great that we need to respect those rights... by banning flag burning.
