This is a serious question, and may have a very resonable answer. Why do the Communist countries have money for the country? I can understand using other nations form of currency in order to be included in a world economy, but why in the country? Doesn't that defeat the whole concept of the government? If "everything belongs to everybody" then why do they need a form of currency?
I may be missing a very key point here, but I'm just not getting it.
Take a look at my name. That's why I'm here.

Social Anarchists don't see the need for money; neither should communism as a theory. Money itself is really a sort of bane to the whole idea that everything belongs to everyone. [Or more accurately, everything belongs to the government]
The thing is... A communist nation would still need money unless every other country it did trade with was Communist; Capitalistic nations don't accept hugs and rainbows as compensation for foreign goods.
On a moving train there are no centrists, only radicals and reactionaries.

So they make a currency? I'd use somebody elses... ... I once again don't blame them for using it to participate in the world economy. As you say capitalistic nations will not accept hugs and rainbows, so adopt a currency so you can pay them. I mean people have adopted currency like Puerto Rico with the US Dollar and most of Europe with the Euro. So why a seperate currency. Unless they want to be self sufficient which is possible, and has been done. Having a value of your own currency seems insane if you're a communist.

It's not so easy to just decide 'ok we're using another countries currency' Only THAT ONE COUNTRY can print dollars [Obviously we would have a problem if everyone was using the dollar, but each country printed different dollars of the same type, they would have different values and thus, are not the same dollar]
And it's not easy either to get enough Dollars to become the general currency of two nations. I'm not exactly sure how Europe managed to pull it off.
