4.07 / 5.00 10,082 ViewsTomorrow I have a guitar lesson, and my teacher wants to know what songs I would like to learn this year. First, I have to learn Pinball Wizard by The Who. My skill level is pretty good, like, can I can play the intro to Stairway to Heaven, and all of I love Rock and Roll by Joan Jett, but I don't think that's a really hard song to play.
I personally would like to learn something by System of Down, or something by Red Hot Chili Peppers. But, I'm asking you Newgrounds. What medium level songs would you like to be able to play?
Carry on my Wayward Son - Kansas

I'm far past your skill level, but I'd say for your ability, stay away from anything metal since 1990.
Any good 80's hairmetal bands should give you a good challenge.
Jordan - Buckethead
Not the hard actually.
Pinball Wizard is easy, you should breeze through it. If you want a challenge that's not impossible, try out Sweet Child O' Mine, by Guns and Roses.

Win. And it's actually called Miserlou Twist.
Try any Against Me! song. All of them are simple and teach you all the chords.
But if your not into that kind of music try Blink 182. Their songs where the first ones I learned.
As far as RHCP, Otherside. Really easy to play, but sounds good, too.
Hangar 18 by Megadeth.
Or Crazy on You.
:x
yea, i've been playing for about 3 years and i'm self taught. My logic is practice what you want to play, not what a teacher tells you. It's easier to learn when you aren't forced by someone else. Some songs i'm working on right now are He-Man Woman Hater by Extreme and Tornado of Souls by Megadeth
Guy Le Douche = Genius
Dust in the Wind - Kansas
Sweet Child of Mine - Guns and Roses
Thanks for the ideas, guys. Though some of these songs I haven't heard of, I'll take your word for it, and check them out.
Sweet Child O' mine was a song that was one of my first ideas of playing. I'll most likely try and play that next.
Anyone know if the Red Hot Chili Peppers have any cool songs to play on the guitar? I was thinking of playing Snow or Under the Bridge. I self taught myself to play the intro of under the bridge, and I want to learn the rest.

Check out Higher Ground by RHCP. The main riff is pretty sweet, simple, but sweet

Tears in Heaven is good and so is Street Spirit.
Forum sig? Whats that.. 3D art thread, My art thread
Learn Laid to Rest by Lamb of God.
Daunting at first, but sounds badass once you have it.
That or some good ol fashioned 80's metal. Great for mid levelers.
I wouldn't recommend any other LoG songs for a mid leveler though
Go.Burn.Stuff.
Dropkick to the teeth. Solves any problem.

And it's also pretty easy to play. Just tremelo picking really.

I just learned carry on my wayward son, it owns :D
I'm noticing a pattern...
Also, learn Message In A Bottle. It's poppy but it's enjoyable to play.
This too will pass.
