New database server online!

The new database server was put online this morning. This should help speed up things like the NG search, bbs, and other database driven features of the site (almost everything). Let us know if you've noticed a difference. We had some problems with the site running slower earlier today, but it wasn't related to the new database, it may have been a network problem.

Well, the site's certainly running faster right now. Good job. It's only a matter of time before you need to get more database servers though. One of these days, every room of the Fulp house is going to have a Cray supercomputer in it. I wonder how fast the site will be then...

I wanted Tom to make the post, but I guess he's been busy today and if I didn't post it today it would be silly for him to post it a day or two days from now saying "Oh, by the way we put up the new database server 2 days ago, anyone notice a difference?" hehe.

Since none of the servers for Newgrounds are actually in either Wade's or Tom's house, I guess we'll never know.

to tell the truth, i havnt had any errors since i got back on friday, other than using up my 4 posts per half hour, and once in a while my connection would drop, but thats not NG's fault, now it's gonna be even better...

Finally! This place was driving me nuts with the damn errors! I mean, I had to wait forever to go to the next page, and for what? An error! But now this place seems to be running much smoother, and faster too.

WEll, even before now i have noticed a great change in NG performance! The BBS has been running great this past wee k with no errors (barely any lol)

The pages have been loading faster for me too! Now i can DEFINATLY see a differene. Good job yall, i swear to god you guys at NG are my idols..

I haven't gotten an error since Liljim worked/toyed with the back-end coding. It's running smoothly. But I haven't really noticed a difference in speed though, just no more errors.

I'll second that...whatever that means. I actually noticed a 'hiccup' in the sites performance after Wade made that post, but it seems to be ok now.

Off topic, but I love the multi-author system. There's a problem though, when someone votes on a movie, it shows the other's other works on the finished voting screen, but it only shows the main author and not the others who have been added. Can this be fixed?
