It's been ages... I got my gameboy pocket when I was 6 or 7... I KNOW that the game was some Mario game. It was really ancient. Kept pissing me off because some of the platforms were only as wide as Mario when he was smaller, and you had to time some jumps PERFECTLY to get it right.

I had an Atari at my grandparents when I was very little, I don't remember playing it very much... I remember having a game where you had to climb elevators in a mall but that's about all.
