3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsOk so at my new job they want me to create 3 flash photo galleries that they can easily edit for future use. I've created one so far using an external XML file which allows you to just edit the XML document to easily change the contents inside the flash, rather than manually edit everything inside flash, etc.
Problem is I need to make two more flash galleries and they need to be different. I'm not good with action scripting and coding so it's going to be hard for me to make something different to the first.
I used this tutorial for the first gallery: http://kirupa.com/developer/mx2004/xml_f lash_photogallery.htm
So naturally the first gallery I made was similar to that, just different styled graphics.
Can someone please help me out? I really suck with coding things, it's not my forte. I'm only really a designer person. I'm the only one at work who really knows how to use flash (apart from coding)
:(
Maybe you shouldn't have taken the job...? but anyways... whats do you mean? what kind of gallery...
=3

Nah I should of taken the job, it's good experience for me and besides they have been overly impressed with me so far. It's going to be a photo gallery. I would like it so you have thumbnails of the pics in the flash and when you click them it loads the picture and shows it in full size. Something cool looking.
Well if you need something cool looking, and you are the designer, then there shouldn't be a problem there. I also have to agree with sandypaw, if you can't meet the requirements of your employer, you shouldn't have taken on the job. I mean you don't see me doing brain surgery right? Regardless, it sounds like you are looking for someone to do the coding for you, so if you feel lke signing over your paycheck for a week, I'll be glad to help you out.

Yeah I don't have a problem making something cool looking, it's just I don't know how to code it to make it work.
There was nothing mentioned about coding or anything in the contract, so how is it my fault? Plus they said they will teach me things. One guy who has been there for a year now, was employed with no experience what so ever, they trained him into what he is now.
I just need some guidance, possibly some tutorials to help me understand how to make another gallery in my own style.
Sure. See my profile for my address.
they should assign you a developer, no designers should be doing this. Either you lied to them about your development skills or they are unprofessional fools.
