My frined Arthur One-Post also know as eXodus-Guilty on NG thinks the RE movies ruined the game franchise. I think that it acrually helped it out alot. You know people go ee the movie.

I see the movies as a completely different franchise than the games. They are so loosely connected that many who've seen the movies don't even know about the games.

I personally ate the movies because they are nothing like the games also they kill of important characters that NEVER died in the game. also there poorly directed. And Mila jovovich is a bad actress thus ruining it even more.

My father is actually good friends with the man who directed the recent Resident Evil movie, as well as Highlander.

If you ask me, it's Resident Evil 4 that ruined it... it's just a generic shooter with zombies (that were not even zombies) while the previous one were awesome survival zombie apocalypses games...

You can't even be serious...
Please, tell me you are joking.
It may be somewhat generic, but it sill has similar controls, and the Ganados can actually run and use weapons.

Dude, how was it generi? When it came out ere was, and still is, no other game like it. It's NEVER been done before, thus fore not generic. If you don't like it, that's one thing, but if you're going to bash it bash it correctly. Also, fyi, RE:0 was supposed to tie RE:4 with the other RE games, but I guess fan boys haven't cought onto that yet. And who cares if they weren't zombies, if they would have kept the zombie theme up any longer it would have grown stale. Honestly, does it bother you that much that Leon tackled a new enemy? It's like Batman only going up against the Joker, you would have complained about that soon enough, so they wanted to keep it fresh, but you can't appreciate that I guess.

The RE movies boned the games story.
But if you think about it. Would you really want
to watch a movie with exactly the same story as the
games? Seriously. And you have a 2 hour movie vs a 20 hour game.
You cant fit it all in there.

I heard that Extinction is really good and I'm actually going to see it this Friday. Anything that generates revenue is for the most part, not damaging to the series.

That added a LOT to the conversation. Thanks! <<please note sarcasm>>

Getting back on topic, I agree that the movie franchise is completely different from the game. You have to look at it like books turned to movie-- books and games have the ability to add a ton more story line due to how long and complicated they can be. Usually, I either look at them as completely different or a great retelling of the original story in a different medium.

In this case, it's a completely different story. I loved the first one but wasn't really that thrilled with the second one. I'm excited to see what they do with the third one. I hope they go back to the more horror-originations of the first one and not the flat-out action movie originations of the second one.

I enjoy both the games and movies, they're some of the best zombie themed things out there.

Also I love how Albert Wesker was in the new movie. :3

Actually it has. The Arcade shooter, House of the Dead has and is about Zombies. Also that really old Nintendo game. What was it called? "My neighbor got eaten by Zombies" is that it?

Carlos(the other character that was in both Apocalypse and Extinction) seemed to replace Leon in my mind. He was certainly more awesome, what with that last ten seconds he spent on screen in Extinction.

It was by far, the coolest semi-suicide-to-save-the-group-from-zomb ies
scene I have ever seen. The cigarette helped.

Outside of that guy and Jill, I didn't like the movies(Except Apocalypse, which had both in it) at all.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing RE4, but it's not the same feeling... it feel just like every other (good) FPS, but I agree I may have exaggerated a little* by saying it ruined the franchise... I was more talking about the "feeling" the franchise have...

I wonder if they'll ever make a movie about Resident Evil 4(game). That would kick some serious ass.
