Dad n' Me Day?

Well, in the recent news post Tom mentioned something about NG possibly having a Dad N' Me day. What do you guys think that would be like? Like what would you do for it if there was? Ah, all the Sunchips jokes...

Because it's mainly a discussion for flash artists. I'm asking artists and programmers what type of games they would make or if anyone would start a collab for it.

I think this is better suited to General, but I'll share my opinion anyways.

Honestly, I think a Dad 'n Me day is too specific. It's a specific character (and son) that have only been in two games. Of course, some may argue that this leaves room for a lot of original ideas. I'm sure it wouldn't have a turnout the size of Madness Day, though.

I wouldn't mind having a Dad N' Me Day, but than again, Than Tom will whip up some Alien Hominid Day, is there a time when we can just stop it with all these official days. Like sooner or later, by the rate Newgrounds is going, every single day of the year will be officially for something.

No, but then again all of the minor characters leave plenty of openings for it. Maybe it's just because I'm a real big fan of the game. I mean Madness and Clock worked because people had been making tributes left and right for years and Pico Day worked because, you know.. it's Pico. Maybe a Tankmen day would work better because of the lower specificity of the characters and it's a newgrounds icon.

But I guess I see Rudy's point of it getting too overcrowded. I don't think we need to have a million event days or anything, but then again I wouldn't mind another one or two.

Plus, it'd be harder to do a Dad n' Me tribute so I think there'd be less crap getting in like Clock day and though much less so, Madness day.

It seems Tom is hyped up, wanting to make more "days." The way I see it, the more "days" we have, the less special those days become and the lower the quality of entries on those days gets.

I like this idea more than the "Dad and Me Day"; Dad and Me's rather specific (because we can only think of so many Sunchips jokes).

I'd actually prefer if there wasn't a new day at all. Come on, we have the regular old holidays (Halloween, Christmas, Valentines Day, etc.), the NG-specific days (Pico Day, Madness Day, Luis Day), and such. Having more days loses its value.

Right, I get that. I know we don't need a lot, and I agree that Behemoth Day would be better than Dad n' Me day (you could add whatever their future projects are too without any excess days) but you also have to take into account that Alien Hominid alone is a HUGE part of NG culture and that Dad n' Me and Castle Crashers are AT LEAST very prominent. I think if we had just that ONE MORE day that that would be good. I think we need more tributes to that stuff, particularly Hominid, because Hominid has grown outside of NG, Dad n' Me's gone viral, and Castle Crashers will probably be pretty big. Dad n' Me isn't specifically Behemoth, but it'll get grouped in just because of Tom and Dan.

Wow, I just read that news post. Tom seems really gung-ho about adding more themed days. I'm in the same boat as Rudy, if there are too many days people will always be focusing on winning contests and celebrating whatever day it is and not really pursuing new creative avenues, and other stuff that gets released on a specific day will be totally over shadowed by all the Flash tributes and shit. Additionally new/casual users won't really know what's going on. Oh well, Newgrounds is evolving, if Tom wants a site where there are tribute days every month, that's what will happen.
