haha i dont wanna post a demo coz thats giving TOO much away. kinda like posting a pre-game game. arts enough for now, and i'll give fairly frequent updates

there is a suprise boss that wasnt in the series but will be a lot of fun, so guess away, but that wont be revealed until release

oh, btw, release = early december

They have alot of awesome games to play. Yes its a shame but it will be nice to see a really awesome game, even if everyone cant play it. This game looks amazing. I mean WOW. I cant wait. You work really fast you must be really determined!

The cheat idea is very very good! What about keeping your items/skills for a replay as well. So you can keep getting better and better?

ok, two questions to answer...

TYPE OF GAME:
fast paced action adventure sidescroller. think dad'n me and diablo 2 has a baby. some people will hate me for saying this, but although i loved dad'n me, the hit system got kind of frustrating. we've worked really hard to get a hoot physics system in this game, which is especially hard with spells like aura blast which people will want to shoot diagonally across areas and such.

OLDER SYSTEMS:
well really it annoys me that people with crap computers running at 800x600 dont spend 100 bucks to catch up, so NO, we're gonna cater to a good game rather then fitting everyone. the only thing we will do that may help them is run quality on low as default (as the game is very graphics intensive) with the option to raise quality..

people with 10 MEGS of ram and a rock for a computer screen and a mouse for a mouse dont deserve to play good games anyways.

lol nah, i want be delaying release coz computers out there are crap, and i wont overdo it too much, bu i KNOW it will be too much for some crappers to handle

trust me, 2 acts are completely finished and i play them over and over again
fun thing is cheats work too so i like to play with low gravity, one hit kills, super speed, and fast attacks, makes things really fun

Good graphics don't make computers lag, it's all the blur and glow filters that you use all the time. I find the problem with your movies is that you use WAY too many filters which make my computer lag (and I just bought my computer 2 years ago, it has 1 gigabyte of ram). You should really cut back on the amount of filters you use, most of them are unnecessary anyways.

Well I'm lookin' forward to your game :)

i overused filters in episode 4 of paladin, in i used a lot in ep 5 but graphics were quite intense

otherwise be ASSURED that the game uses next to none

oNLY on spell effects, IE the aura blast blast clip and the shockwave ground pulse and turn undead clip (they are all one layer of one color FBF, simple and fast) so filters dont contribute to lag at all. the only thing that does in the game, and quite a bit, is the amounts of enemies and scripts loading.

also, my coder is amazing, he just spent a few days optimising back end code making FPS from arounf 19-25, to up to 40

I know like when I'm in school and I'm doing "school work" the computer crashes every time I play any good game on NG. For the people that do have crappy computers I guess it's their loss.

As a coder who actually looked into applying but then got wayy too busy xD....

Are you guys using AS3 or AS2?

Is it an OOP setup (ask your coder, he'll know what that means lol)?

And for collisions, are you using hitTest or a different method, because I know that hitTests on many objects = lots of lag.

Cool dude a;though I thought your series was too either dramatic or one of those in which you can just know whats going to happen kind of move but I still liked your work alot because of the graphics , voice acting and it was still cool.

On the topic .. Is the game going to be like rpg style ? With each available attack distributed into buttons?
Or is it going to be left click for attack , right for defence and lots of combos? * Googly hawk eyes staring right at ya*

Sorry I havent read all of the reviews before adding mine lol. Well anyway do you intend to go with whatever was made already or you planning on adding something mroe original for the game?
I mean sure if the game is great and all but its a no brainer when your doing the same thing other people on your lvl of animation are doing. I mean its also kinda like art and all so adding something from yourself ( Not including the plot and your style of graphics.).

Btw I loved your last flash movie "The Composer". Sorry if I mistyped the name or something.

are you talking being origional art/animation wise, or gameplay wise?

i'll answer bother roughly: gameplay wise things are very different to anything ive ever played. it has a very 'there' and 'physical' feeling for a flash game, everything has a mass and can react, IE when you use the shockwave spell everything around the player blasts away, and the screen shakes and enemies fall over, etc. you can also use either attacking combos (repeating clicks) or cick, or uppercut slash (jump and click)

art: im new to game art, but im doing everything to the best of my ability and not avoiding detail. im also not overdoing filters and gradients. not bits that look filteres IE bricks, floor, etc are small images that are tiled, which is much more avoiding of lag then hand drawn areas can be...

JAZZA dont worry about people flaming you, your a legend. Amazing work on Paladin series so make this game really fun to play and it shouldn't be too much of a problem.... Although originality would definately boost its likeableness but Id say the graphics look awesome already, and your animating is genius anyway so I cant see how it would be a problem. Maybe you could in the credits say dedicated to dadnme and diablo or something like that just so it looks like your being a nice tributer or something =/

I'll say again, looks very promising.
I have a question - will the game have these 'massive enemy attacks' like in Diablo 2? I mean, about 20 enemies rushing at you in one screen, and you just slay them one by one (or all together, using an awesome spell ;)? Will your engine be able to take it?
Also, I'm not very familiar with the Paladin series - will you be the only one who fights, or will you meet allied npcs to help you in battle? or perhaps you'll be able to summon npcs to help in battle?

the quality will be set to low by default remember. dont worry, it doesnt make vereything look too bad
plus, its changable...

as for will it be massive enemy attacks like diablo, no itll be more like little group attacks at a time, 3-5 enemies average

you meet a bird halfway through the game who will be able to peck/swoop at enemies doing low amounts of damage
