the shading is overdone. Remove one of the two shades, and just use one color for shading-- make it only a little darker than the main color.

Lighten up on the shading.. and lay off the neck? The light should leave that area mostly normal.

thanx for all the suggestions. all try to touch up the shading, which seemed to be the main issue everybody had.

how about it now? i reduced the shading in the face to only 2 colors and in the shirt to only 3. i still think i like the previous one better cause the more colors, i think, give it more detail, but what do you think?
