more genres, to actually be able to categorize things properly would be nice. Not breaking down every individual piece of music so as to pigeon-hole it, but allowing/allocating room for more 'specific' genres, such as acoustic, IDM, breakbeat, glitchcore etc....
That's all I have to say:)
yeah, its kinda annoying when you have a breakbeat piece or something and nothings there.
and if you're going to talk about stuff like "asian" genres, instead of just focusing on that, go ahead for a worldbeat perspective imo.
i think user-defined categories are a good idea--maybe just have a jungle genre, and fill in the subgenre like IDM or glitch or dnb or whatever.

restrict voting to once per song per user, and to counteract blammers, maybe cap the number of 0's you can give in a time period, i know the topic's been discussed a lot before but its the most frustrating issue in the portal IMO when some retards come in and downvote u every 2 seconds.

maybe there should be more ways to promote audio, like maybe a recommendation system based on what you seem to like and what users characterize their music as [like a simplified pandora]. that'd be cool, it gets hard when you crap out 30 reviews and 2 ppl actually look at ur work/review.

i think reviews need to be stressed more, too many ppl are lazy and just don't leave anything/thoughtlessly vote.

also, something should be done about the "i wont listen to this song if the intro is more than 3 seconds" dilemma because i think that, and other issues, forces us to reduce quality of work for random stereotypical unintersting crap to please the masses [i.e. why angelic trance crud is the most popular thing ever on newgrounds and the same overused detuned saw synths and melodic patterns are on like 3/4 of submissions. That's my own opinion, though.
