If you intend to be comment on somones idea, then make sure it's creative and bring a valid point, not just "lol dat sux" etc.

I have aleady deleted MANY posts that weren't contributing to the thread. It's OK to discuss pro's and con's with new features in here, but don't just say "lol we can do thiss and that now".

more genres, to actually be able to categorize things properly would be nice. Not breaking down every individual piece of music so as to pigeon-hole it, but allowing/allocating room for more 'specific' genres, such as acoustic, IDM, breakbeat, glitchcore etc....

I just read this thread (the entire thread) and i might some idea that havn't been suggested.

First, when clicking on the audio portal button, you see the list of new submissions, and the best tracks ever list, right? Wouldn't that be nice if we could see the artist's name with the songs? Most of the time, when looking the new submissions list, i may miss a new song from an artist i like.

Second, it's about the genres. Either add new genres, or add subgenres for subgenres. But whatever is done, it may be negative for the AP.

Let me explain. Let's suppose the electronics genre has more subgenres. Imagine two close genre (let's say, for the example, Techno has two subgenres, Hardcore and Softcore). A guy who likes techno is gonna, of course, browse trough techno genre. He prefers Hardcore so he's browsing the Hardcore subgenre. But he may as well miss some great tracks in the Softcore subgenre, because he doesn't even browse that subgenre, as he doesn't like Softcore.

I don't know if i am clear, though. But that leads me to a question : won't adding new genres and subgenres kill other genres?

Well then, when you browse any given genre you should see the subgenre next to the songs title.

If we add new genres I don't see how that can be a bad thing.

As far as songs used in flashes, Rig may have mistyped something, but I gather that he's requesting a page where we can see what songs have been used in what flash as opposed to seeing the one song page and a list next to it... methinks.

I would like to see, as well as everyone else, that one little feature where you HAVE to review a song after voting 0-1. The new voting system's fine, just that little added amenity will keep the little fucktards at bay.

Yup! Just a little column in our Audio Submissions page (where you can edit + remove songs) showing how many animations our songs have been used in.
And I would like to at least edit the description and/or title of songs that have been used in flashes :(

ok here's my beef:

why cant i change all my icons for my songs? being used in a flash or having over 1000 d/ls should NOT prevent me from putting an icon on my little cd - in fact - the most successful songs i have are the ones i WANT images on!

secondly - once you submit a pic - if you dont like it - its stuck on that cd forever - the edit option for a 46 by 46 gif disappears after you submit one! I mean.. wtf?

and thats my beef.

PS: a little loophole in newgrounds:

if someone submits a song - and it's stolen - and it gets featured in a flash - and that flash passes - technically there is no way to delete said song. This could get messy - and reflect badly on certain individuals.

oh and mods should be able to change their auras - but they should all be mighty and glowey - and maybe have gold rays in them as well :P

and I want a rainbow aura! Gay ppl should be allowed to have something other than pink - which is a GIRL aura colour in reality.. not a gay aura colour - or maybe purple - or bear rainbow colours - white orange light brown dark brown and black :P

It is about the review notification system:

a) It doesnt show ALL reviews I havent respon ded to - it only shows new reviews for like the past 2 days

b)When I respond to a review - it still shows that I have a new review!

why cant the system just tell you how many reviews you HAVENT responded to - and then decrease that number down to 0 as you respond to them?

Just a few nitpicks and ideas:

1. I suggest that the comments for a song be lengthened from 90 to, say, 255. This will allow us to describe the song better without posting links or such.

2. Yup, I agree with a required review for 0 and 1. Zero-bombs on hours and hours of work isn't something any contributor would like. There should always be a rationale for excessively low votes, since an artist needs reviews to improve.

3. I also suggest a sorting button for review score (right now, it's for rating, date added, and... something else... title!). Most of the really good stuff has good reviews, but bad vote ratings. It'll be also hard to zero-bomb reviews since you need to leave a constructive review.

I want a "batting average" for audio but instead of being called that, call it "pitching average"

I think there should be a button to mark a stolen submission "stolen." Then the submission gets deleted if it really is then of course that person who stole it will go on permanet ban!

My Idea is for the songs on the front page, ex: the new submissions and the Best tracks ever, next to each song, the Genre should be listed, because, i mainly browse the front page for new techno/trance/dance type songs, it's tedious to browse through the new songs just looking for the genre i want to listen to.

Again, like everyone is saying, bring back the the gold/silver/platnium/double plat etc etc back

For example,there might be really like 5 Hip-Hop genres out there but we only have New and Old Skool here.
Another example,there is Trash,Industrial,Power,Progressive,whate ver Metal...here we only have Heavy Metal.
