Drugs and Art - Discuss with pics.

I have heard many people on NG say stuff about having to use drugs to be creative when you run out of ideas. I was wondering why the fuck artists would do that. Seriously, my uncle is on Meth and it took about a year of me, my mom, my dad, my aunt, and my grandma via trips and phone calls to convince him to go to rehab, hes totally fucked up, he lost his house and his car, and his wife left him.

Yeah, why the hell would an artist ruin thier minds?

I don't think Meth is a hallucinogen. I have never used drugs and don't ever plan to but I guess it would be what you see when you are in this state. I would think everything is in a "Psychedelic" kind of state and it makes you think in wierd ways.

Except with certain drugs like Meth.

um i dont think drugs make u more creative, especially heavy ones like meth. but i am an avid user of pot and shrooms and they are fun and can even bring some ideas that u didnt have before but with or without drugs ur creative on ur own

how many people advised you to use meth....the only drugs i read here are shrooms, weed, Prozac,Ritalin,acid,and lsd never read meth yet....but i dont get that much inspiration from drugs i just dont....but it does keep one mellow....and thats always good....sitting back eating chips and fall asleep.....wake up and start drawing.....ahh good ol days......but i never tried meth or heavy drugs.....anyways

Thanks NG. I m glad you support my topic kind of, but what about not smokin pot? Does it not kill brain cells? I don't want to start a art/legal battle similar to graffiti, and I know that people should be more focused on stopping others from using hard drugs (coke, meth, heroine etc) but Im just wondering if using pot or shrooms every once in a while really affects you when the high is over.

Filters are evil things that steal ur soul now and then, they are very easy to use and some artist hate em a lot.

Some MAY look good depending on what ur doing ( like sigs maybe )
