Some think that the world will be over when global warming floods the world, but we'll be able to handle that well enough to keep the human race alive by living in artifical islands or something. or maybe the sun will burn out? or a gigantic asteroid will smash the earth? or nuclear war?
what do u think

According to scientists, the sun will enlarge and become a Red Giant, causing it to swallow up Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. After a while it will turn into a Super Nova, destroying the rest of the planets. After a few seconds the Super Nova will become a Black Hole and suck up any remaining debree. And that will not only be the end of the world, but also the end of the whole galaxy...

Well, more like the end of the solar system with the slight possibility of effecting other systems near us. Probably not the entire Milky-way galaxy. Even if this galaxy were to disappear there are countless more like it.
bazzo : Actually many scientists have been observing the sea level receding and glaciers growing. This coupled with the recent changes in weather suggest a new ice-age is nigh. An ice age would set on fairly fast, a third of the earth could be covered in ice sever miles deep in as little as twenty years. Fortunately, this is not an extinction level event. Think about it, mankind survived the last major ice age and we were pretty primitive at the time. In fact, even if the world were to flood as you originally said that would not be the ent of the world, that would be the end of us. Even a meteor the size of Texas would just wipe us out and leave the earth intact, ready to spawn more live in the ongoing ballet we call evolution. It would take a collision with something the size of a small planet or the sun going supernova on us to wipe the earth out.

The world will run out of clean water in 2050, and we will all die from being forced to drink from the sewers of New York.

I know it's cliche but I say that we'll all die from the aftereffects of nuclear warfare, either that or life will end up resembling the Fallout series.
I get to be the Overseer:D

actually the world will end in about 3 billion years when our sun, just as it is exhausting its supply of hydrogen, begins to lose gravitational ballance and expands to engulf the Earth. A couple eons ofter that the sun will shrink, creating a dwarf star. a couple more eons ofter that the sun as it is will go supernova destroying the entire solar system and creating a nebula from the ashes.
Give or take a few billion years and the whole process will start again sun created in nebula, debris form masses that orbit the sun, the masses cool, life evolves on one of those planets and in the ultra distant future another dork will ask again how will the world end

nonono guys, u got it all wrong, i'll give you a clue, when the lochness monsters reveals itself, it will call upon its other dinosaur friends who will go and destroy thhe earths core in an attmept to take a hot magma shower.
failing that id hafta say nucleur war because most countries are getting fidgety ina i want to bomb others way, with all the fighting in places nd stuff.
and whoever survives the blasts will probly go underground and evolve a bit while waiting for the nuleur winter to end.

The sun thing is not a threat. We will be able to get the hell outa here by that time. And I don't expect the planet earth to live more than 1000 years, then we move onto Mars and beyond.
Or we realize that we must save our planet and start to recycle everything and stuff.
That will not happen if the mentallity is the way it is today: "I don't give a fuck about polluting, as I will be dead to see the effects anyway".

what do u think
I think it's could be any of those. Those were exactly my answers when I saw the topic.
Hopefully we get the one where the sun burns out, because that's a long time away!

i hope you mean 1000 years from now, otherwise its a laughable offense. ;)
unfortunatley i have that mentality, well, 50/50. i never litter, but i never recycle. litterings to much on my conscience, but recycling is to much on my puny body. im a, 'well if the earth dies, at least all the evil dies with it, but then again, so does the good.' kinda guy. but yeah, youre right, people like me must recycle more.

well when the world ends (im guessin in about 4 billion years when the sun goes crazy) humans wont be around for it so it doesnt matter. no species has stayed on earth for more than a couple million years without evolving slightly, so think of what humans will look like in 4 billion years.

The world will end when crazy fucking aliens with laser beams come rom outer space and incinerate our planet with their secret weapon. Or some guy that thinks he's jesus will come up with a new way to get to god and blow everyone up.

Of course 1000 years from now. I don't recycle either, my mentallity is that wars, power and cold hard cash will destroy the planet anyway. I think the humans was an evolutionary mistake. We are just intelligent apes, way too intelligent.

it'll be in apprx 524 years.. when the earth will start to switch polarity, temporarily (for about 100 years) and at that point the earth will lose atmospheric shielding and we will all wind up frying to death in 150 farenheit + temperatures
