I've never been a mod, and I don't think I would be that good at the job of being a mod First of all, all of the power would be intoxicating, and I would probably abuse that in some way. Second, I am not really sure of how to act like a mod... Either I would never ban anyone, or I would ban too many people. I could never find the happy medium of banning the people that need to be banned.

many of them have just moved on from NG, were inactive for long periods of time, or simply asked not to be a moderator anymore.

There have been plenty of mods who have been removed from active duty due to various reasons. Contrary to popular belief, most are removed due to inactivity or personal request. Although I'm surely forgetting a couple:

Anti-Tanner, Captain_Jack, DanPaladin, DrLavaGodess, Evark, Eveningshift, FIGMENTUM, Freakapotimus, gfoxcook, Olskoo, Osamarama, Rabid-Echidna, Sarai, Slightly_Crazy_Dude, Star_Cleaver.

Also note that some of these guys changed their alias in the old days of being able to.

Also, as a side note, I missed the fact that FIGMENTUM has been remodded. I only just noticed then while viewing his profile. FIG had requested demodding due to RL commitments making newgrounds and the internet a no-go for a little while, but now he is back. It must have just happened over the past few days.

So YAY.

Also, Macdeth was never a BBS mod. He was originally a review mod, before the bedn incident and subsequent demodding.

That's why I seemed to remember him being demodded before. I had a slight feeling that was the case, but dismissed it when I saw him up on the current mod list.

Sorry, wasn't aware. He was the only mod that I really didn't know, so I only had the previous post to go by. Lest I had read through all of his 6k+ posts to find some evidence of him being a BBS moderator.
