Hey everyone.
Today I got my internet upgraded from 256 KB/s to 5 MB/s.
All in all, it's GODLY.
I downloaded a 300 MB file in a minute and a half or so.
I'm in heaven.
Share your download speeds.

Straight from my modem's page:
Item
Downstream: 4640 kbps
Upstream: 512 kbps
And a 12GB/month bandwidth limit
Although that should improve soon.

MTS offers me 5Mbit down and 640Kbit up, with something rediculous like 180GB per month :D
Keep in mind that ISPs always give you their speed in bits not bytes. Take the number you get and divide by eight to see it in bytes.
For me that's 5,000 Kbits / 8 = 625kBytes / s down
B = bytes, b = bits

I have about 30 KBit/s download speed here. But over at school, it's not that bad, a few MBit/s I suppose.

Can't get Cable where I live, we have to use HughesNet. When it's working perfectly, which is very rare, it tops about 500 kb/s. We have a 200 MB a day bandwidth limit, after that it goes down way below Dial-Up speeds for 24 to 48 hours. And I haven't been able to upload anything in a long ass time.
It's only $130 a month though!

Yeah, shit sucks. When we moved here the guy said "Yeah, it'll be like Cable, just a little slower."
But the contract ends in December, then we're upgrading to Dial-Up. Hopefully Cable will be available here soon since there's neighborhoods 'n shit being built all around us.

I never thought I'd even hear that!
I can get up to 30 Mbps if I upgrade and can run a server if I wanted to but I don't want to pay extra on top of the cost of the cable boxes, all of the premium channels, phone and the internet. SO I think all together, we pay about $130 or so a month for all of that. http://www.optimum.com/order/boost/index .jsp

I pay $24.99 + tax for my net each month. Cell phone bill comes out just under $50/mo usually and that's about it for my bills honestly.

10^12 ps = 1 s
5,000,000,000,000 kb per second is not a joke.

A dead snail is roughly equal to my download speed.
Strangely though, my upload speed is astronomical.

2mb down / 300k up
It's okay... Not brilliant for file uploads, but the browsing speed is pretty fast. :-)

I forgot to mention -- my internet is divided up by like, 4 computers, so it's not as fast as it could be, especially because I'm on wireless... But I'm averaging around 1-1.5 MB/s, and it's amazing. I love it.
