tankman v2.0

i think this one should have its own thread cuz its a pretty big sized project.
here's the sketch for what a realistic tank dude would look like to me, and im goin to color it and add a background as i go. im going to take some feedback and change somethings that might look weird, or things that could be improved. so yeah...going to color it after i get some critiques in.

btw, was this done before? or am i the first?

nice character dook...only flaws I think need a little more work: the gun is a little off, just a little and the legs...I'm not sure what's wrong with them but they look off kilter slightly....I may be nitpicking tho. It's a kewl drawing!

Adding the NG logo to the armour would add a nice touch too I think.

Perhaps in the top left corner of the chest plate.

colour and give it a bloody glow where the logos are!
for example: a orangy glow for the NG tank and a red glow for an angryfaic.

kay...took most things into consideration and fixed the sketch.
made him a lil more muscular, lowered the head and shrunk his legs.
the angry face and tank thing i will probably take care of after i finish. maybe have it look like a sticker or something.

well... i know you said it was supposed to be realistic, but for some reason i think tankmen should be.... vector... or something...

PROGRESS CHECK.
i'd say i have less than a third of the coloring finished in this section. i'll do more shading and shining. probably going to change the way the goggles look too. these are most of the colors i'll be using for the tank man, but some of you probably wont like it too much. any ideas on a different set of colors that might look better?
i may do a vector image of this, but for now, im goin on a bitmap path. (i cant make everyone happy.)
also, i've got a shit load of exams and essays to work on this week, so im juggling between this and studying and most likely wont get too much done.

i really think the yellow shouldnt be as bright. it doesnt look like its been through/going into a war. also, i think the gray should be closer to black, not pure black like in the original tankmen, but overall, much darker. so, i guess my only issue with the colors are that theyre too bright for me. other than that great stuff.

I agree. darken his color scheme and add some highlights and rim lighting to make the details stand out.

i finally found some time to work on this, but didnt have that much.
i mostly just redid the color and added some details to it.

idk. that color is just a fill in for something else i'll probably do.
when i finish the background, i'll make the goggles reflect off of it.

I think the blue of his goggles kind of ruined the color scheme, but this isn't like a Tankman at all. But it still is an awesome looking army dude.

Not bad... good coloring skillz... but imho, it doesn't look like Tankman. I think it must be the color scheme. Also, I think the helmet's kind of off in the way that's it's tilted awkwardly.

But it's too late now. Regardless of what I said, it's still good. Keep it up.
