Although they come from the same tedious line of white British music as every other wank luddite British indie band (The Jam, The Smiths, Oasis, The Libertines...) they are, undeniably, very good at what they do, and triumph through sheer force of sound and melodic riches. The lead singer is also a fairly sharp lyricist, which is rare in British rock these days. Drummer is good too, which again is rare in British indie as most of these bands seem to have drummer solely because "that's what bands have".

In the long run though, they will inevitably turn out to be bad for British music, purely because of the success they've head, as labels will sign loads of shite sound-a-likes. Same as Oasis were (except Oasis really were shite).

Good is based on perception, in my opinion it sucks. But Unique? Pull the other, it's got bells on it.

And just so you know I may be a 'filthy metal head' but I also listen to Jazz, Blues, classical, Rock, Pop, the odd bit of rap and scarily enough some Indie.

I also love how you attack us for being narrow minded in our approach to music yet you then go on to call all Heavy Metal monotonous. How does it feel to be a hypocrite? Generalising an entire genre of music is a bit narrow minded don't you think?
