Unlock Gms Phones

I'm under the impression that you can "unlock" your phone so that it is compatible with other service providers... anyone know how (unlock and set up new SIM)?

that's pretty subjective, you can't argue like that. i say you make a randomized control test against placebo to determine if my posts are "shit". here's how i suggest you go about doing it. first have a broad demographic of 5000 people, then subject 2500 randomly chosen people from this group to my posts and the remaining 2500 to posts which they are told belong to me but are really just average bbs posts. you can compare the reactions from the test group and the placebo group, then present the results in this thread when you're done. i'll have a group of people with doctorates in posting to review your findings

To summarize some points in this thread.

Yes you can unlock a GSM phone, with an unlock code. Sometimes provided by your carrier, otherwise they're figured out by unconventional means.

On the note of this, thanks to a particular clause in the DMCA (Dumbest fucking law ever) - as of last Saturday it is now illegal to unlock your GSM - Carrier Branded phone inside the United States without explicit written permission of the carrier.
