Just a few more days to vote for the best of August! Log in and visit your account options page to see if you are part of the 2,000 member panel, selected out of the most active members from the past month.
In addition to the regular prizes, winners this month will receive a free copy of Jazza's Paladin DVD!
If you aren't familiar with the Paladin series, check it out. Also, Jazza is looking for a programmer to help him with a Paladin game. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of what will likely be a highly publicized and awesome project!
In other contest news, the results of the Castle Crashers music contest will be announced Friday at 4pm on Radiogrounds! We used the entry by cornandbeans for the arena menu at PAX and it got plenty of compliments.
I had a recent inquiry about the best schools to attend for aspiring game programmers. I assume that Digipen is still one of the best programs, but I know a lot of schools have been moving into the realm of game development, so I thought I would ask - has anyone done research on the topic? I know Drexel has a growing game development program, for anyone in the Philadelphia area, but it's hard to say how it compares to established programs such as what Digipen may offer. If you have any info to share, please share it!
A lot of people have been working on scary / funny movies for Halloween this year, so I suppose a contest is in order to give out some prizes!
To enter the contest, simply include the Newgrounds Halloween Pre-Loader (you can see a preview on our pre-loaders page) and stick it at the front of your submission. Also, include a link to the 2007 Halloween collection on any menus at the beginning or end of your submission.
Cash prizes!!!!
1st-3rd: $1,000 each
4th-5th: $500 each
6th-10th: $250 each
All winners will also receive t-shirts and stickers! This contest is for movies only, as game submissions can enter the Armor Gaming Challenge, where three Halloween-themed submissions will win $1,000 each (and all submissions will be eligible for the contest grand prize). Please be sure to read the AG rules for Halloween submissions.
As usual, the deadline is October 31st and we prefer to hear the use of music from the Audio Portal! You can submit your entry at any time between now and the deadline.
Don't forget that Madness Day is September 22nd! We are giving out lots of prize money for this, too.
If you haven't been watching the front page bytesized cartoons lately, we've added some new ones! Just this week we added one from MindChamber, and we're about to release SIX NEW CARTOONS by Stamper... Possibly later today!
