If you post a programming challenge, get the number from this thread. Then link to this thread in your challenge and post here and let me know what level it is (easy, meduim, hard).
I hope you guys have fun doing some of these, and I hope everyone finds time to post a couple. Thanks.

woah woooah hold on there partner!
the programming challenges are a good idea but don't you think this is overkill right now? we currently have five programming challenge topics, only one of which has any solution posts, in addition to a programming challenges:main that sprung up out of nowhere. I think you should let them run their course one at a time at least.

Well, AFAIK, this thread is just to keep track of all the challenges, past and present. I can actually be a great resource for learning, see how people do stuff like that :)
So this one is one of the more useful Main:s out there.

Yer... the hole challeng idea was realy good
but then every one ecided to psot a challange... and their are hardly any solutions out their.
Making a main for this would be ok... except you are making a main for something that given a month for the frenzy to go away, their will be nothing left of it.

Aye, we should let the five threads die, get solutions, then post one challenge, wait a little, then post another one a week or so later.

Yikes... This is the second failed :main this month.... >_> Can't people just stop making these unless there are tons of questions about the subject in the forum?

this main is ok cause it's not really... a true main, but yeah I think 1-2 challenges at a time is probably enough.

I hope that I didn't go overboard yesterday, I'll slow them off for a week or so. Be sure to try them out. They're all fairly easy as of right now. I've posted my own solutions to several of them, but it'd be great to have many different answers for the same problem.

Make that #5.
And sorry for the somewhat messy formating. The next update will be neater.

That's actually grade 8 math, assuming you're in the normal math class.

Hmm, well I don't know about that. In all the school's i've heard about, solving linear systems is grade 9 work. I do remember learning the basics of slope in grade 8, but it was never connected to a Cartesian plane until grade 9.

What difficulty are you putting that in? I would think Hard or Medium, but I you should make the call.
Posted at: 9/27/07 07:27 AM
Medium I'd guess, it's not very hard IMO.
