Ive heard some people on the newgrounds BBS call hitler a christian and that WW2 was caused by religion.
That is wrong, I will tell you now what Hitler belived.
He believed in Atlantis, and the people there were god-like supermen, but the island was sunk by God when these god-men "mixed" with inferior people. The survivors whent to live on the top of the tallest moutain on the world for somtime before moving to modern day germany and scandinavia.
Htler then tried to recreat this 'master race' by selective breading and following a corrupted version of Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophy.
Disscussion?
Hitler 'religion' combined aspect of many relgions (like the swastica), but moastly ancient germanic mythology. Most gemans were christians, but his SS and Hitler youth were firm belivers and fannatical.
If Nazi germany survived all the germans would have been believers in Hitlers religion, and die-hard fannatics.
Good thing that diddnt happen.

Hitler wasn't a Christian? i guess you've never read Mein Kampf, or heard any of his speeches for that matter.

It doesn't matter if Hitler's religion was Christianity or "Nazi", it had the same mass-psychotic groupthink effect as any other religion has. Hitler's party rallies bore an uncanny similarity to numerous present-day religious masses and gatherings, found in all religions, including Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

It doesn't really matter what Hitler was. If he was a Christian, it wouldn't affect Christianity in any way. Since there isn't a "test", anybody can call himself a Christian and have the most anti-Christian lifestyle ever. So, it just won't make any difference. But also, remember that this goes both ways. Just because some great guy was a Christian, doesn't mean that Christianity gets "credits" for him.
But anyway, the one thing we DO know for sure, is that Hitler wasn't an atheist. I don't see where this idea came from. There are no quotes or text or anything by Hitler supporting this, yet I see it real all the time professional articles whenever somebody non-atheist talks about atheism. They love to whip out the list of Starlin, Hitler and Pot as examples of why atheism makes you a bad person. (never-mind that atheist in general have a lower crime rate)

Atheism - unlike most mainstream religions out there, - generally places no real value or sanctity on the dignity or life of other human beings. At best atheism is indifferent.

When I wen't on "How to see if you are a fundy atheist" One of them said
You continually argue that Hitler was a "real Christian" even when he and his fellow Nazis were slaughtering millions of people (and you "conveniently" ignore the very obvious distinction between someone claiming to be a Christian and someone actually living as a Christian, and the fact that the Nuremberg prosecutors denounced Nazism as fanatically ANTI-Christian!)
Hmm, makes me think. Doesn't make me think much.

It was a very racist-based Christianity, but also with beliefs in "Nordic" principles (ethnic cleansing, executions, fascism).

I subscribe to any articles or blogs with the word "atheist" or "atheism" in Google news. And I can tell you that it happens so much it is almost scary. The most likely reason I am to see the name Hitler is when somebody is using him as an example of an atheist. And this is based upon absolutely nothing. I could understand if there was a large confusion about it all, but not a single thing other than the will of anti-atheists claims that Hitler was an atheist.
Some people are god damn liers, and others are god damn idiots foe believing them.
I don't see why so many Christian lies without regrets. Isn't it one of the ten commandments not to lie? I mean, Hitler being an atheist, Darwin converting on his deathbed, and much more. Rumors like that aren't started by themselves.

Hitler considered him a friend but Mussolini considered Hitler more like a grudgingly accepted rival especially when Hitler was successful in his blitzkrieg wile Mussolini actually had to get Nazi aid in his bid to conquer North Africa. Of course he was its creator but Italian fascism wile a dark period in its history wasn't nearly as bad as Hitler's résumé in fact with the exception of Stalin, pole pot, and the like. Few people were as bad as Hitler.

it was a mildly warped extremist Christianity. all of Hitler's occult projects were relatively secret so as not to create conflict with his image as the righteous God-fearing leader of an aryan, Christian Germany.

i've heard it said. it was in one of those "look who was an atheist and what evil they've done" thread.
and saying Hitler was Christian is hardly an attempt at bashing Christianity. (had to include it, some people are idiots)

This is a neat fact, when Mussolini was in power and Hitler was still a nobody, Hitler wrote a letter asking for a picture of Mussolini sighned by the Duce himself. Hitler never got it. Also Mussolini never read Mein Kampf.
But It looks like they had fun together....

You dumbasses!
Hitler was Jewish, he wanted to get revenge at god for treating his mother so badly. He also was beat as a child. His real calling was in combat where he got two consecutive Iron Crosses. A high honored medal in Germany. He was enraged at the Allies for treating Germany with such harshiness. The reason he came to power was because he promised to rebuild their pride, wealth and power. And he did that, and he would have went down as one of Germany's Greatest Leaders if it were not for the act of the killing of the jews. Infact, only a few other pronounced Nazies had the same idea to kill all the jews. The others were too scared to get in the way. You know with the Gustapo's midnight knock knock. His feelings of hatred for the jews resurfaced and thats why he struck out. It was a religion, it was payback. All the funding for the archeologially and searching for the aniceint atrifacts was propaganda to support his lies.
*FUN FACT* The Germans did not have any idea what Hitler was doing to the jews. They didn't want the kill them, they just wanted them to leave. They only ones invovled were those overseeing the prison camps and those who were close enough to Hitler. None of the public and 2/3 of the German Army had no idea about the camps.
So :P

He was of jewish ethnicity, not of religion. He was raised a Catholic and he became a mystic.

That is racist on so many levels. That I could not begin to yell/slaughter. It was true, if you have watched the entire series of Band of Brothers. At the end of the one with them finding the camps...they say exactly that. What I said, so if you don't like you brainwashed idiot; you can go to hell and meet Hitler yourself.

Once again, no one takes you seriously.
And once again, you even got the ending of band of brothers wrong.
The German citizens "say" that they never knew that they the camp existed, but the soldiers could tell that was complete bullshit and thats one of the reasons why they had the Germans collect and bury the dead jewish bodies.

......Wait wait, so your saying. Soldiers who were millions of miles away from the camps....knew about them, when most likely they weren't told. Your the one with deluded mind. I have seen a documentary, in my history class. It was called, "Fatal Attraction to Hitler" In it one of the surviving Hitler Youth scouts said that quote, "We didn't want the Jewishh dead, we just wanted them to leave." I would give you a clip, but its too old for it to be on Youtube.

Taking the religous, racial, and sexual characteristics of ANYONE and using it as ammunition against the idea is pathetic; it DOESN'T WORK, because it can be used both ways and in any variety.

just because its full of hatred and racism doesn't make it a new form or anything particularly different.
and believing in Atlantis, near flawless men and other fun things doesn't make one part of a new sect of Christianity. many Christians believe in Atlantis and most white supremacists are Christians, not some other version of it.
