What's crackin?

I've discovered that Ng seems to have no discussion of the most superior of music genres, classical. That is why I have created this thread. To discuss the greatest classical works and composers.

To warn you, if yuou think Heavy Metal is derived from classical music, or the extent of your classical knowledge is the first 4 notes of Beethoven's 5th symphony (dun-dun-dun-DUNNNNNNN), this thread is not for you.

I'm sure that Ng is full of classical music buffs and this thread will be huge.

Rock your socks off.

Now rock your girlfriends socks, bra, and panties off. Then fuck her all night long. Then lay sprawled together for a few hours as you nap off the sexual tension. Wake up, start cooking some breakfast with her in the kitchen naked. Fuck her on the center kitchen table , settle down, eat the plate full of steak and eggs, finish it with a glass of delicious cool orange juice and spend the rest of the day making love.

Don't fucking tell me his interpretation is shit. You clearly know nothing about the piano or the beauty of live performance if you want to give me a note by note critique of these preformances like most of the stupid youtube commentors. I KNOW Newgrounds is smarter than youtube.

I don't really listen to much classical, but I do enjoy the organ very much.

wrong selection, this should be under clubs. yes, I enjoy listening to classical music, but not to the extent of going out and buying a CD. and yes , death metal was shaped by classical, because all music was, in some way. classical music was the pioneer of all other music genres, whether you like it or not...not that it was some HUGE impact, but it most likely shaped death metal in SOME way...

I love classical music. I really do. My favorite classical pieces are Clair de Lune and Scheherazade.

Um.... I don't know what else to add?

I would say that metal is closely related to classical music. A great metal performer is exactly the same as Mozart in term of the way that he or she would perform, furious and full of embelishment. It's all based on chordal progressions and arpeggiations on electric guitar or harpsicord. A great metal solo will often evoke memories of some of the classic mozart and bach sonatas and sonatinas.

Ugh, comparing people like David Mustaine to Mozart makes me gag.

The closest thing I ever heard to Mozart in a metal song was "Play With Me".
When I listened to "Master of the puppets" I could curiously find no resemblance to classical music. No matter how many ornamentations they threw in in the slow section.

Classical is so out of the mainstream now that I find it difficult to find specific recordings to listen to

I'm a big Holst fan myself. His First Suite in Eb for Military Band, movements II and III are really excellent. Hayden is also excellent if you like Baroque music.

great...I never said they SOUNDED the same, I just said they are musically the same. Mozart sounds nothing like Chopin but people still group them together because they are on the same instrument. So playing the guitar like the piano will create two different sounds. Get over it. They are both beautiful and one is not more musically deep. Many heavy metal guitarists are more musically adept than mozart due to the advancements in harmonizations. Since this is a classical music thread I thought that a discussion of all things classical would be good

Oh god, this makes me want to rip my throat out. It hurts so much to listen to something so good. This music feels so good as it flows from your fingers into the piano.

I love classical piano music. I used to have a huge collection of classical music however I lost all of it when my hard drive died on me. Can't remember the names of any of the songs mainly because classical music has stupid names and 7 different versions of the piece by alternating a different note.

It's honestly much better to find a good pianist and get him to play something spiffy. I get my brother to play that kind of stuff all the time, and my music teacher majored in piano :)
