How many have guns killed? Too many. What would Al-quada do with its signature AK-47. WW2 without the gun?

But are guns all that bad?

Here is a breif reason why i don't think so.
I have lived with guns my whole life. They are not dangerous. People are. Here are some simple reasons to how most gun related accidents can be prevented.

>A child shoots himself when playing with it while parents gone/busy.
1. Teach your kids how to handle them and that they are dangerous. I was taught at a very young age. And i know not to play with them. I don't let my friends touch my gun. My gun is un der my bed. They could but I don't let them because they don't know what they are doing.
2. Put a gun lock through the gun ( slides in through the the action preventing even loading ) / Put locks on gun cases / Use a gun safe. Places don't sell them to look pretty. They sell them to keep us all safe.
3. Keep guns and ammunition seperate. I have my gun 2 floors away from the ammo. The ammo is in the basement and I'm on the second floor. If they are kept seperate how can anyone shoot themselves and/or others?

1. Most the guns used in there were never bought legally. Personally, i think maybe having a form of license ( like in a car , the proof of insurance and everything police ask for ) isn't a bad idea. And you have to renew it every so often to prove you are still ownership of the gun.
2. If I am correct the V-Tech crazy guy was an immigrant. If he DID purchase it legally than oh well. We should stop immigrants from buying guns. ( ya let Osama-Bin-Crazy and Saddam-Insane come in here to buy their guns ). This does stop terrorists from not entering the country with a gun and then buying one. They could just do that. Come over here all legal with no suspicion. Buy a 30-06 and basically have a pretty basic sniper in their hands. And its easy to find.
3. Why haven't we ever done anything to stop them?

I heard cops in Houston, Texas have begun doing that. With arrest rates rising there will be less "gangsters" and less murders / drugs. Therefore solving a couple problems.

Because this has never been tried before? Because politicians never make empty promises? Most of these illegal guns are sold through straw-man purchases and black market trades. Those licenses won't resolve anything.

Concealed Handgun License. As far as I know every state has it, but the bill of rights also protects us from unreasonable searches and seizures, so they should, at the very least, need to feel threatened or have a good reason to search 'em.

In answer to the first point, we shouldn't have to teach pur kids about guns (nor weapons of any kind) we as human beings should be able to solve problems without guns. Your second ammendment is outdated, it was made for frontier times and when America was heading into the west. People will kill if they really want to, with or without a gun. If you feel you cant keep your ammo so far away then you obviously dont need your gun for self-defence. Every cop searching anyone and everyone, thats what we call a police-state and it borders upon fascism and gives rascism and discrimination an almost official home in lower levels of Government ( ie the police, etc). this will not also solve the problem of violence, in fact the agro caused by this policing style would probably lead to civil unrest.
