I agree, in fact, I first did draw em bigger, since she is suppoused to look a bit... hulkish, but, I felt she would look better this way. Also, the anatomy isnt propably 100% accurate, but I never aim for 100% accuarcy anyway, since it takes tendermous amounts of time to check if everything is completely 'on-spot'. And if theres a mistake, you might need to draw a whole lot of it again. And I hate that.

I will work on her armor next, updated to the left side of the pic, propably in a short while ( If only my brothers wouldnt intefere so much, I could spare more time for this!)

Oh, and that also settles the thing that from now on, I will do more of those nice little trips to somewhere where I can completely focus on drawing (and listening to good music), it really is worth it...!

Im satisfied with the armor & shading, and of course the overall look is great, concidering I could have never even dreamed of making pics this decent 6 months ago. I made an odd background, as usual, but I hope I can make some "real" backgrounds in the future.

Here she is, in all her glory: Minahra, the Qoltharian Flame Tempest.
Tattood to the max, she is a graceful Qoltharian with mean force & endurance. Rare breed of Silver origin, she is a mix of both Red & Blue origins.

Since I already gave her service record, Ill just explain about her creation a bit more...

Well, she is quite a fresh creation, popped in my mind from complete emptiness, & is now one my of fafourites, along with Kamata. First I just wanted to show her as a Flame Tempest with no further need for a name or story, but you know me, I just cant leave them to that easily.

So here's something about herself ( I cant help but creating personalities to my chars & then explain them);
As you can clearly see from the left side, she has a heavy black armor providing extreme protection. The armor is also very heavy, and requires both strenght & endurance to wear it. But since Minahra has remarkable strenght, endurance and insane amount of stamina, she has no problems wearing this Flame Tempest Heavy Support Armor ( FTHS MK 2, Customized ). She packs the same weapons as every other Flame Tempests, the heavy wristblade as a last resort & backup, and of course the Flame Tempest Plasma Thrower (PT 20, customized ), that is customized to be attached to her automated right hand ( going against Guardian Xenoforms is extremely dangerous, she is concidered "lucky" that she only lost one of her limbs, or survived the encounter after taking such a fatal blow ).
She truly enjoys using PT 20, due to her pyromaniac behaviour, that fortunately only focuses on her enemies.

However, even Minahra has to accept the fact that you cant wear that heavy armor all the time, & that you have to eat & sleep too. So, in her time out from the fields, she trains new UBF rookies, though she is said to be a bit rough & unpredictable on them at first. If she is not on training duty, she is in the gym at least once a day. If, and only if she has absolute free time, she can be usually found in the local UBF Barracks lounge, reading short, cheap horror stories that seem to amuse her or chatting with other UBF personel.

Well, its getting late & I have to go to school tomorrow, so I guess I'll call it a day now & stop this nonesense :P

I would like to make the Guardian Xenoform next, since it has been haunting my mind... it will look wicked if I manage to pull it out. But im not certain if I should finish that 4 char pic I promised first :P

Croc-dino? Guess you can say that :P I dont know where the original idea for these poured from, but true, they have a bit of croc in them, as far as the head is concerned. Aside from that, mostly just my imagination fused with the general 'lizardish' style.

If you could draw them in different positions, doing different things, that'd be awesome.

Been planning that, since So far they are all from pretty much the same angle. Been thinking about a pic that is on front, and of course, in different poses & acctually doing something (In fact, I have already pictured it in my mind... lets see if it fruits! ) :P That is if the temptation to draw that Guardian Xeno isnt too high...

also, I don't really like their eyes, they seem to flat and unreal :P like someone put a sticker on there :P

Yeah, I know they look flat, but that is pretty much the only type of eyes I can make em, I have experimented some different styles but seems to go only worse that way :P Well, hafta keep trying.

but putting that aside, it was awesome, keep it up ^^

Well, if you dont have Paint Shop Pro, I recommend using the same program I make my pics with, meaning Paint.Net

It's free, but although its not Paint Shop, it is decent, and gets the job done, and has the basic functions you need to make pics. And it is quite easy to learn. Too bad it doesent have a shading tool, so I pretty much have to use low alpha colored black & white :P

Hard to start you say? Well, just stick onto something, a long trip is begun with one step... Though I admit, its hard to start ( and hard to stop,too ).

Too bad I was not too satisfied with my drawing today, in fact, I only made one that I dare to show, when the whole pic is finished that is.Its far more difficult than I imagined, to change my usual perspective ( slightly upwards ) to frontal perspective... Well, just another obstacle to conquer... & I still want to draw that Guardian however :P

Today I will draw some more of my next bigger project, and hopefully I can make some good progress in it.

If all goes well, it may get to computer lining in next week, but of course, if sooner, the better.

Well, well... looks like I, for once, finished my pic in a flash. Though I just got 3 chars in it due to lack of space :/

So, I will start the lining job ASAP, and hopefully will get it done soon...

Well, im too tired to continue from here, but I did finish lining 1 char.

Now thats looking very nice, Krayon. Like your style a lot (esspecially the fact it is not a guy with a 5 ton sword & 15 tons of armor). The detail is pretty much awesome, though I feel a bit that his legs & head are a tad too small, but that can just be me :P
Also like that runed sword... it looks simple yet original.

But, I did make some progress... 1 char added to the pic, one moar to go... after that, it's time to color & shade them all, so its still a long way to go, though lining takes the most time.

I dunno about background, could be something like before (color blending)...

Also, I wonder what I could use that space on the top of the pic for...? Well, I wonder that when I'v reached that point.

Hehe, easier said than done. Now that I have the perspective alright, my next pic will possible have some... action in it. What I'm concerned is about that when I'm drawing battles I tend to use 2D style which, in this case, is not an option anymore. Thus, I'm quite inexperienced drawing combat ( I did, however, draw one pic of a full scale combat between UBF squad & Machina, but it uses the perspective I'm trying to avoid & also is so old it is my older drawing style, so I will propably not use it ), though I can really make blood look awesome (in my opinion). So I'm experimenting different styles now to see if I can pull some combat off. Warning, if I manage to pull them off, and then finish 'em on computer, they will contain gore, or at least loads of blood...

Also, the pic I'm currently working on, some muzzle flashes will be added if neccesary.
Well, though slightly drunk, I try to finish the 3rd char on the pic right about... now. Let's hope I dont screw it :)

Well, made some progress half-drunk, but I guess I did some decent lining job nevertheless. So, now the trio is ready, waiting to be colored & shaded, which will happen as soon as I get time in my hands. I will propably add a battleground as a background so it will look better that way.

When you color is there gonna be like crashed ships, and random dead bodies? That would be cool hah.

Well, since I thought they would be fighting Xenoforms at the moment, no crashing ships will propably appear ( unless I put one of my special xenos there... ), but I might put a gunship (yup, I already know how to draw it) shooting... Propably some random gore & violence, maybe adding dead bodies there, or live xenos even. Let's just see what happens, since I dont have a base for them so I need to draw them with mouse only, meaning the main focus is still on the 3 chars. What I'm still concidering is the place of the battle... inside (or outside) an UBF base? Barren wasteland? Urban chaos? Well, who knows.

However, can't start coloring right now, gotta go to sleep & then I have to study a bit, then I might just have time to color at least a little.

Good colors for the alien I don't really like the humans though. You should make their heads a little more real looking and some changes on the body, but thats just what i think. Its still good!

Yeah, I know excatly what you mean, I have never been too good with human heads ( or bodies, I admit :/ ). Thus the fact that those are just non-important chars, I didn't really even focus on their faces :P

I promise to put more effort on the human faces in the future, might try a new style, and perhaps change the eyes a bit. But I'm glad you regonized them as humans at least, meaning the faces aren't COMPLETELY off :P

And the human body, yes, I find drawing human bodies much more boring than alien bodies since every1 draws 'em (mostly), so my focus is on the aliens (or Qoltharians if you insist ), but I try to improve on that subject too... never too late to learn a few new tricks...

Thanks for the critics (and the compliments), now I know where I should try to improve a bit :)

But before I can go improving anything, I need to finish this pic already, and its too late for that now, but I think I might just get some free time (possibly) when I'm back home from studying... Still loads of work to do though... coloring...shading & then the battlefield as a background (Let's hope I can pull one off with mouse drawing ).

I promised some progress, and here comes progress. Not only did I color the male soldier, but I also slightly improved his face, should look a bit better now. I will also modify the snipers face when I start working on this again, so It wont be left as it is now.

I'm quite satisfied with the new face, its not the best face around, but will do.

Only 1 coloring left, then I decided to improve the overall look of the chars by making their armors & weapons look slightly worn / dirty. Then its time for shading :)

Anyway, I hope to work on this again soon enough, until then, bye!
