Some work on my first "serious" attempt at art with my tablet. It's turning out okay, except for those legs!

So I'll tell you guys summoar aboot the Battle of Yorkdale setting and such:

In 36 years human geology has changed: The middle east now is apocolyptic- half controlled by power hungry united states (who has expanded to include Mexico and the some of the carrebean) and half controlled by preveous leaderships. Ireland has separated from the banner of UK but has kept it's ties with the nation, acting as a British colony more then an individual country

Eastern Europe has felt damage from Chinese out breaks, adding on to the global terrorism protest when several middle eastern countrys became americanized. Japan, once a global leader has mysteriously been mostly cut off from main stream trade as well as austrailia. Northern European areas such as Germany, Norway ect. have felt little impact from global affairs, but have had ties with many leaders of the world allowing for icreased growth. Russia has been divided in to states with states bordering canada doing the best in growth.

United States Breaks off- the country had been blindsided for years, believing what it had been doing with affairs where for the greater good but appearently things whent wrong, the country spreading military into europe and asia from their place in the midde east and smalled ground units from the core country into canada and south america, at this place in the story most of canada has been taken over. Sploches of european areas have succumbed into the banner of the new united with current countries who havent, fighting for their freedom and facing resistance. Russia has been almost unaffected by these forces and surves as a ground base for most of the worlds rebellion

South america has a almost perfect blockade of countries free/ countries under the banner and the forces have turned their eye elsewhere because it seems like too much of a struggle
at this point i havent really decided what is happening in asia or austrailia sooo ill figure that out later

And for reference, Yorkdale is in canada, more specifically in the south of Ontario

A much improved version of the good doctor.

the invading forces are of corse civilized and organsized AND being the evil guys have really cool high tech stuff( why does that always happen?)
The have this cool system of traveling and hqing

One of the first and most famous rebellions happened right outside of the forces' hope and ended up obliderating their main base and crippling their leader, Commander Giova. To prevent another crippling blow like this, the forces decided to create a unique defence system- holeing themselves up in our atmosphere in giant floating ships, not unlike the titans in bf2142, only flatter bigger and much higher in the sky.
To reach them, the soldiers have to get to automatically defended outposts, where pods in small silos are.
The pods have a fuel/raw energy propultion system, that activates with pressure and gravity. To activate this, the secondary docking system, 3/4 way to the orbital ships shoots a constant infarred ray, and when shot over the pod silo activates the pod(s) and sending it to the secondary docking.
From there another launch happens after a short refueling/orienteering session, launching the persons into one of two ships

the downsides are that this system only allows for small ammounts of personal to be transported individually and the pods can be shot down or loaded with explosives and sent towards the docking units. Also anyone who can reach the pods has access to their launch, meaning anyone can use them.

Anyway, I feel I should apologize a bit first, its been some time since my last post, and frankly it was about time I came here. I do not try to explain the reasons, lets just say I was busy.

So, I try to finish my pic today, and keep the quality as high as I can with the pics that follow.

So much happening around here too, looks like you guys have made some nice progress with both storylines AND pictures, looking good, so far at least :P

Also, anyone who does not want to take part on this thread like it is meant to be taken, well, you can... at least stop posting here, since it will not do any good to YOU, or anyone else, really. And if you are not mature enough to do that, then there's nothing I can really do about it. So this is just a simple request.

Ok, finally finished drawing her. Without any other interruptions, here is the story & pic of Kamata.

Kamata Shenerva
Age: 28 SYC ( Standard Year Cycle )
Birthdate & place: 201 YFU ( Years from unification ), 87 SDC2 ( Standard Day Cycle 2 ), Battle Frigate Kalehon, medical wing 2.
Species: Qoltharian, Green origin

UBF STATUS
Rank: UBF Overseer
Joined: 220 YFU, was trained as a field medic, barely made it trough the UBF - Selection tests, but soon was renowed for phenomenal leadership abilities.
Confirmed kills: 89 minor Xenofomrs, 8 Major Xenoforms, 8 Machina drones, 2 Machinas.

GENERAL INFO
Kamata Shenerva was born in unexpected conditions: Battle Frigate Kalehon. She was the child of 2 sergenants, even though it was not adviced to try to reproduce in the middle of war. Battle Frigate Kalehon was issued to patrol the yellow-level planets, & was assingent to keep moving all the time expect when in need of repairs, service or when enganing enemies in planets. That meant that Kamata pretty much grew in the middle of a war. When she was aged 9, Battle Frigate Kalehon had to make an emergency landing in a hostile planet ( red-level planet Grolath 2 ), where it had lots of causalties from the rampagin xenoforms. Until backup arrived, the battle had already claimed Kamata's mother & seriously injured her father. When her father came back to good health in green-level planet Klathor, she plead her father to teach her. Though she had studied lots of medical entries in Kalehon, she wanted to be able to defend herself & others if she ever had to face xenoforms, or Machinas, again. Though her father was not too happy to see her daughter so enthralled to join the UBF, he agreed to train Kamata. He soon realized Kamata was propably the worst Qoltharian to use any kind of weapon with ranged abilities, so he simply trained her melee combat abilities to her peak.

Kamata joined UBF forces when she was 19. She almost failed the UBF - Selection test due to her poor ability to shoot anything, even with Qoltharian Battlestaff. But her good medical abilities and her supreme melee combat abilities made her UBF career possible. She served as a field medic for a couple of years, & was often seen to argue with her superiors about their tactics. Luckily for her, her superiors admitted that their tactics were no match for her proposals. She was soon promoted as an Over-Sergenant, but it didn't take long for her to be promoted to a Field Captain. Soon after that, she was the youngest UBF Overseer ever seen, at the age of 27.

When she was in her first year as an UBF Overseer, she met an interesting Qoltharian Black origin doctor, Traham.
It was not long until they became fond of each other, the couple was soon together, now as Kamata & Traham Shenerva. Traham is a skilled doctor, specialized in Mechanized Bodyparts, meaning he can pretty much replace anyones arm or leg if it goes... missing in action. Though Traham would be suitable for battle, he serves UBF forces behind the lines.

Kamata has 2 senior Overseers with her, the UBF Senior Overseer Halrogh Cain, a Terran Veteran who has lost his left leg in battle, and UBF Master Overseer Gel'Rah Reigan, a Black origin Qoltharian, who has lost his left eye, and hasn't even replaced it. Cain sees great promise in Kamata, though Gel'Rah still thinks Kamata is a bit too young for a position like this. So far, she has made no (serious) mistakes.

Kamata herself is calm natured, fit, young & determined. She has some sense of humor, but for some reason, she is enraged is someone, in any situation, for any reason, should even hint that she got into her position by beign a female who is simply attractive. Only one person has guts to make these kind of claims, though with humor: Terran Senior Tactical Commando Squadleader Jacken. He is always amused by Kamatas fierce reaction.

KAMATA - IN BATTLE -

Weapons: Custom Qoltharian warblade ( dual ). These baldes are self-repairing, thanks to their red-nanobot housing system. These blades also have the advanced energy-edge system, that provides the blades with virtually maximum sharpness possible, meaning they can cut trough most surfaces with even gentle force. The blades themselves are made from extremely durable titranium steel.
Armor: Custom made armor, that is mainly made from taranium metal ( standard metal used for armors due to its high durability, low weight, & easiness to produce & find. ), with some added clothing. The armor is not as protective as one could hope, but is extremely light, hinders no movement at all and "looks nice". It also has a small, inbuilt radio system & a small green-nanobot housing system, located in the back of the armor.
Fighting style: Dual blades, kicks. ( Also note that for some reason, Kamata refused to let her venom sockets to be removed, meaning she can still use poison, though it is concidered highly uneffective.)
She can attack really fast, fiercelly & effectivelly. Though the blades are her main weapons, she can deliver strong kicks too, that can easily knock smaller xenoforms out cold, or even kill them. Her fighting style is learned from her father, but she has also added some moves & styles herself. One of the most remarkable is her partial ability to use blink-movement. This means she has trained her legs to the point she can move very short distances extremely fast. This ability comes in handy anytime. She also has an odd habbit of cleaning her blades... by licking the very blood out of them. She herself claims this to be only useful because : " Blades need to be cleaned from blood anyway, & since I like the taste, why not? Saves time, too. Also, who knows if there is some nice vital vitamins or nutrients in it?". Unfortunately, she is right about the nutrients.

She always carries her blades with her, just because she never wants to be caught too off-guard, as the movements of the enemies, esspecially the xenoforms, are very unpredictable. Though she looks pretty much battle-ready all the time on duty, she also knows how to dress off-duty, though her blades accompany her even then.

Ok, we are done here I think. I'm sure I forgot something, but that can be added later. I hope you like my new Kamata. I was really satisfied with her new outlook & story ( Sorry about the quickish background though ). So, I do hope you can post some comments of her, and of course, keep your own work coming in :F

As for the future, I try to make a picture with 4 characters in it, though they are not important, I really like to try my new style for normal soldiers :P Also, I might, just MIGHT add one picture someday that I once made as... an experiment of some sort, that features Kamata off-duty.

Ok, I was not competely satisfied with this one, I really should draw withouth using a picture I have drawn with a pencil as a base only.

But, its not completely ruined, and will show off some of the basic looks of Terran Senior Tactical Commando Squadleader Jacken.

First of all, the eye is a bit... off, maybe too large, and his head ( the remaints of it ) are also a bit... off.
Note that I left his neck & upper torso & shoulders out due to my own laziness ;P
But, you get the idea. I will not even introduce him properly now, waiting until I draw him correctly.
Expect facial changes too.

I try to at least finish lining Minahra, she will look wicked, hopefully, at least when I draw her with pen too.

Qoltharian Flame Tempest Overlord Minahra, here she is.
Im not too satisfied with the background, as it SHOULD be "flamelike"... sigh.
I will propably draw her completely someday, hopefully at least :/
So, note that this picture is merely an experiment, that will hopefully fruit someday soon.

Flame Tempests, extremely heavily armored Qoltharian shock troopers that are mainly used to protect vital ares, but can also be called in emergency to heat things up a bit. Their armors have a strong red-nanobot housing in the back, allowing fast repairs in the field, and are also extremely durable, meaning Tempests can take on some serious punishment.. But the thing that makes these so fearsome, are their weapons. Armed with the Tempest Plasma Thrower, they will incinerate their enemies in matter of seconds. The Tempest Plasma Thrower can shoot a bolt of highly compressed plasma (medium range, on longer ranges, the plasma bolt will end up decompressed in flight ), dealing enormeous damage on impact, or simply spray a stream of plasma on short (10m) range. Tempests are also armed with a backup wristblade as a last resort, though this is rarely used but to finish opponents.

Minahra is a rare breed of Silver origin Qoltharian, fused as a blue & red origins. She is extremely suitable for her duty, since she has almost endless stamina, has endurance that competes with the toughest of all Qoltharians, Thus she seems to be a pyromaniac in all its glory; she loves to see enemies burn to ashes. Though experienced, she has lost her right arm when engaging a xenoform Guardian; when this happened, it was the first time anyone really heard her scream for pain... though briefly. She now has a mechanized arm that has a Tempest Plasma Thrower in-built. She is the Overlord of the Flame Tempest Squads, meaning she can command them as she sees fit, until an order froma higher authority comes to play. She refuses to have any vacations, and is completely devoted to her duty in the UBF. As she says it: " I like what I do. "

Sorry, no updates today, and not tomorrow either, since my tomorrow evening & night goes away in the local rockbar, sorry.

If I wont finish the ongoing picture anytime soon, which I propably wont be able to do, I will propably start working on some older art, which Im not too happy to do since my drawing style has been trough a lot of changes in the past 8 months.

But, I think I can make something nice out of them...

sven647, looking good! Too bad his weapon isn't showing as well as I would like, but overall your pic is really good! Oddly you have done what I cannot, meaning you use simple lines in the armor & still make it look perfectly normal, with me I try to add all sort of details that usually end up messing the whole armor up.

Vousielle, now thats something we dont see everyday ( and wouldn't like to see in my front door either ), very nice & detailed. You can really see his... "evolution" from man to this... whatever he is now... Very nice, ever thought that perhap you should try to color it with the computer? Then again, it might look better the way it is.
Making me look very bad with my 'cell-shading' style... if I even typed that correctly.

I should update myself too ASAP... but I'm not sure what to work on. My older drawings are not as detailed as the new ones so I prefer not trying to draw them with computer... Though there is ONE pic that I would like to add... too bad its not 3D, rather the vechile is shown from side, front & up. Too bad I dont have a scanner so I HAVE to draw all my pics with computer or they will just be too dam inaccurate.

I feel I have been not giving enough time for this... and Im tired of trying to draw something with no consept as a base... so, I did some digging, and found one of a bit older picture, nothing too important, but I guess it was worth a shot to start working on it ( I would have another one, fresher one too, but I'm a bit uncomftorable if I should ever make it complete with computer and present it here... its something "different" to say... ). So, I did something & tried to correct some flaws I spotted, & tried to make some spots a bit better looking. Well, heres the progress, next time propably with complete lining job done.
Shading & colors, added later. Its a promise.

But now, gotta go to sleep...

Well, though I didnt have time to do anything drastic with my computer today, I finished my 2nd char in the 4 char picture, so I guess we could say Im halfway there. Also, if possible, Im trying to do some pics on A4 paper, meaning more accuarcy and maybe a chance to show them when they are still "raw", if the camera doesent make them too unaccurate.

Happy Halloween ( Even though we dont celebrate Halloween in Finland...) everyone!!!

So, yesterday I did something I haven't done yet: I went to a nice, quiet fast-food restaurant, ordered a milkshake (so they would let me sit in the corner :P ), took a pen, paper & eraser from my pack, put on my MP3 player, sound to almost max, and started drawing absolutely undisturbed. I loved it.

Minahra, I drew her. Two times, acctually. First without the armor, then with it. They both looked quite nice, so Im gonna leave my last seen pic iced for now, and start working on those two (they will be included in the same pic ).

I think I'm gonna start working on em right about... now. Unless something unexpected happens...

And Im going to have hard time when drawing those tattoos again someday :P Maybe.
