Think about it. We are taught that Time is a continuous unwavering line. But what if, at any point along the line of time the something else could have happened, I am speaking about a non continuous line, but one that branches off in to diffrent directions. Imagen a world where Columbus never discovered America, or a world where Hitler never took over.
The possibilities are completely endless.

A thread that was on much earlier in the morning today inspired me to look into this kind of thing. Apparently one of the most likely theories out there is that there are endless hidden dimensions, that are like the one we are in, just slightly altered.

It's all a theory, but then look at it like this, Say you are driving down the road, and then the road comes to a fork, you can go straight ahead, to the left or to the right. Any way you go will take you to your destination yet it takes a diffrent route. Just think of Time like that and you will start to understand my theory. It's not an Acid Trip but it is just a deep train of thought.

Duh like in another dimension. Like what if "crazy" people who see things that aren't there actually have the ability to see into other dimensions and those things are actually there.

Well usually people like that see ghosts or apparitions. But time travel and all that will never be harnessed by humans because by the time we start getting break throughs we will kill our selves into instinction.

What is a "non-continous" timeline? Everything just stands stil, and nothing happens? Time is really just a method to measure elapsed... time. If nothing happens, then there is no time.

I agree with you 100%, I KNOW that time travel is possible, going forward in time has been proven, but going back in time is much much harder and hasn't been done yet. But by the time we're able to do that the apocalypse will be dangerously close. Or have already happened.

And? If Hitler never took over than someone else could of done, even worse than Hitler did. You can't say that ending something bad before it starts would fix the problem.

But then what if the holocaust never happened? What if World War 2 never happened? What if no wars ever happened? What then?
These are all hypothetical What If? there is not way to prive tis theory, nor is there anyway to disprove it.

Well, that way you'd have pretty much infinite realities. Just the fact that say, my grandfather died on a tuesday, not next thursday allready changes enough. Since he was hanging on with cancser, it would really be subject ot a lot of change. Not just the big stuff change the world.
But it's interesting food for thought. I've been thinking about how little things affect the face of popular culture. What is the bass player for plasmoids hadn't fashioned his hair in mohawk, would that whole design even exist as it is today? What if Eric Claptons son hadn't died (He wouldn't have written "Tears In Heaven"), or some guy hadn't groped his wife (which wouldn't have spurred his racist comments which sparked the rise of Rock Against Racism. COme think of it, what if RAR hadn't existed? They dropped the National Fronts popularity by a fuckload).
After all, pop culture is volitile, and subject to a lot of change. Had Columbus not found america, someone else probably would have, later. And there wouldn't be a country called Columbia. Hitler? Popular theory is (usually invoked in time-travvelling series when confronted with "why not go back in time and kill Hitler?"), is, that at that time, there were a plenty of people with similar visions, who could have just as well gotten into power (off course, what if one of them hadn't been delusional about their personal intelligence and hadn't interfered with military strategy, or spend precious manpower to kill jews).

Well, don't hold your breath, buddy. Only things with less than zero mass can go back in time, because mass slows you down, and you need to break the speed of light (Light has no mass) so it's kinda impossible.

That is exactly what I am getting at, anything can happen at any given moment, just because it does not happen to you, does not mean it never happened. it is a possibility that it happened in a time shift Ie an Alternate reality. Time is not a Straight line, it is constantly branching into diffrent realities.

A world where Tom wasn't creator of Newgrounds and instead the creator was Wade.
Also, if you're thinking of alternate reality, or at least the way I see it.
You think of Line A, our time, space, and reality.
That's OUR universe, OUR reality.
Then you go over to a completely new line, Line B.
That's our alternate selve's universe, their reality.
If our reality were to branch into other realities such as those previously mentioned, well, it'd be another case of Back to the Future Part 2.
If you consider each alternate/reality as a seperate line, it makes more sense.
I wonder what I look like in another reality. Heh heh, I wonder if I've killed myself by now....

The basic idea is that in our Universe, Universe A, you are wearing a red shirt.
In an alternate universe, the ONLY thing that may be different is that you are wearing a blue t-shirt today instead of a red one.
Or you could go by the Futurama definition:
Alternate Universes are different because coin flips have varying outcomes.
POST 700!! WOO
Congrats.
To think, in another universe, Tom could NOT HAVE married April.....
And someone on Newgrounds would be getting laid instead of jacking off....

You should look at that "ten dimensions" theory.
It goes with your random way of thinking.
I'm not stupid. I just lack the cognitive capacity to understand or apply what I've learned.
I'm not gullible. I just know that no one would tell me anything but the truth.
