Do you ever hear random sounds in your head? It doesn't happen often but about 4 times in the last few years i would just be laying in bed and people i know would start saying my name in my head...they just repeat my name over, and over. it is people i know mom,dad,friends. So i just sit there and let them run through my head until eventually the noise dies down. What's odd is that they sounded so close i ALMOST thought they were real. they're not violent...thank god they just sound happy like they're calling me. I told my dad and he seemed concerned but when i said that it doesn't happen often he relaxed.

That happens to me every night and one time I heard voices saying kill kill never stop which kinda freaked me out

Yeah.. a lot of the times, it's a song. I had "Bye Bye Bye" stuck in my head, and it kept playing OVER AND OVER, it was creepy and annoying. It got to the point where I literally hit myself on the head. I hear a bunch of voices, especially while half awake or half asleep.

When I'm listening to music kinda loud, I get people calling my name. I think it's just my fear of being caught unawares, because I'm up in my room, and I hear people call me from downstairs when they aren't in.

Me too! Half of the music I listen to is death metal and my family doesn't know because I sneak it and I'm not supposed to listen to it so I'm very paranoid and secret about my music.

I only hear voices in my head when I'm reading. Unlike most of you.

Yeah but you know ghosts are real and there out there to kill so be warned they are very dangerous and always stay on guard and carry a touch with you or bring the ghost busters with you so you can kill them if they try and kill you or give you an heart attack!

I wish I heard voices. I always talk to myself, and it would be nice if myself replied just once :'(

Yes, when I was younger I would hear the same thing. It was always voices I recognize. The funny thing is it always just sounded like a playback of somebody calling my name from before. Mostly I would always hear it when I was alone in my room doing something and it was really quiet. I never thought it was anything unusual. I've talked to other people that have said the same thing. Probably just something our brains do.

My conscious verbally abuses me.

Nope, sleep deprivation will do that to you. Sawke, you should consider seeing someone, just because the voices aren't unpleasent, that doesn't mean they aren't a problem.

I like to think that sound is my brain sending messages through my body.

Nah I just get scary snuff images in my head about the ones I know. Not voices.

I remember John Cage discussing that when talking about his inspiration for '4:33'. Wiki says Cage "heard two sounds, one high and one low. When I described them to the engineer in charge, he informed me that the high one was my nervous system in operation, the low one my blood in circulation."

No matter what I do, I always hear "kill, maim, burn" all the time.

And I am hearing it right now, it's fucking annoying.

Does it ring in your ears? That's what happens to me, it happens when you damage your eardrums enough.

My dads a psychiatrist.he said that since I haven't heard them in like a year it's nothing to worry about.

That's called schizophrenia, seriously; you have schizophrenia, my dad looks after schizophrenics. On a related note, never ever ever go into a mental hospital. Just because it's not flaring up at the moment does not mean you don't have it.

I would advise never doing drugs and not worrying about it and living a totally normal life, with no drugs. Or at least no weed and hallucinogens.
