Because when Square made the original Final Fantasy, they used all their money on it, thinking that it wouldn't sell and then company will lose money, thus calling it Final Fantasy. And since the Final Fantasy games have sold really well, I don't think that they are going to end the franchise any time soon.

the game was named final fantasy becouse if that game didnt succed it would have been the last game Enix made

FF 1-10, Tacticts, Anthology and CC were made by squaresoft.
Enix bought Squaresoft and became Square Enix.

Gah! this is getting old... Final Fantasy is a dying fad (FINALLY, granted, I like the series, but there are far too many) and there are more than 12 there's also X-2, tactics, etc. either way, just forget about it.

If you count all of them, there are a total of 19, not counting remakes or the old gameboy games.
1-13, than the two tactics games, the 10 sequal, crystal chronicals, and there are three different 13 games. thats one huge series.

It had to do something with a company that spent its money on the game Called it Final Fantasy it was a WIN OR LOSE situation if they lost theyd be through gone no more

the teirm final fantasy is ment for the individual characters and worlds in each game, not meaning each game has any conection with each other.

FF is an excellant series. It'll keep going as long as people buy the games.
