Back when we only had boards with nails in them, a psychotic, derranged, or malicious individual in any given position couldn't do much damage. Now, all it takes it somebody to push a button. The non-existant margin of error and consequences thereof are staggeringly frightening, for me.
But those systems, (nuclear weapons), already exist. This potential technology is nothing more than a delivery method for conventional weapons.
If everyone wants to debate MAD, then make another topics about it.

YOU are quite MAD!!! (there i said it!)
..and i don't need to start a new topic to debate it.
saying something like; "WE already have Massive Arsenals of nuclear Death and Destruction", is not a legitimate argument for a relentless continued funding and developping of even more MAD (crazy) methods to utterly annihilate any human target by Ultra-sonic Death-rod from Outer-space, or and other method.
-Insti Force 10 Earthquake device? .."that's ok, it's not as bad as a Nuke"
..such logic taken to it's conclusion would advocate the development of a 47th chromosome to be implanted into all human embryos able to be triggered by satelite remote "detonator" (controlled by 1 government of-kors *wink wink*)
.."that's ok, it's not as bad as a Nuke"
Come-off-it-Moffit! Where is the funding of non-deadly weapons already 4Fuksake?! </end rant>

I agree, and while I am for the evolution of weapons for defense of a nation, I do not support building masses of them that would be easily turned against us if something ever went wrong. If we're going to build weapons like this, we should gradually start destroying all of our older weapons.
