I don't think their similar at all.
They're experimental (in terms of popular music). They have a high pitched singer. They're both fairly morbid.
But really the sounds are very different. Muse are more intense and dark and weirder in a more obvious way.
Radiohead are more subtle with their sound and its obviously less rock orientated.
But if you think about it, Muse were trying to get signed just after The Bends and OK Computer, and, I mean, Showbiz and The Bends are pretty similar in style, especially in terms of guitar work.
Hey, can I join?
I like Muse a lot, and recently I discovered that they are going to play in my city! I began to like them in 2007, when I saw they playing in MTV. I became a fan from that day and on.
I only have Black Holes & Revelations, so I don't know much about their other songs. Could anyone give me some recommendations from their previous CDs?

I haven't got Showbiz :(.
But the fact they tried to get signed after The Bends/Ok Computer doesn't necessarily mean they were copying Radiohead.
It might have been an issue of birth times :P.
Or maybe they were inspired by those albums (which is much more likely). But theres nothing wrong with that.
No, it's not that they were copying Radiohead, it's just that they were similar, so a lot of record labels were very reluctant to sign them.

Rather uncharacteristic.
Don't labels normally relish the chance to make money from artists "similar" to something so successful?

Well yey for the Americans.
The reluctant British ones must have felt quite a string :).

Or, as it is more commonly known, sting.

Anybody seen this video of Matt busting his lip at a show in Atlanta?
The comments afterward make me want to hit something. They give American Muse fans a bad rep ='[

Making myself clearer: The comments in the video, not the comments at the bottom of the video.

They seemed to be like joking and smiling and cracking jokes and shit. Typical americans. (I am American, and I wouldn't act like that)
eh.
10 days later after I asked to join...
Yeah, sorry for that. I have a tendency to forget some things... =P

I saw that a while ago. I think it's on the DVD for Hullabaloo. There's nothing funnier than people making fun of Slipknot.
eh.

Also, other than that,
this is the other best video Muse-related. It's just a big collection of clips that are Muse related and hilarious. From beginning to end.
eh.

It really shows his dedication though, doesn't it, with all that blood all over his face, he still kept going.
muse are a great band and undoubtedly produced one of the greatest singles of 2007, Knights of cydonia. Along with stronger, daft punk, and superstar this was my fave single of 2007. But im not a mad enough fan to be part of this crew so soz guys.
