There are still people though who will listen to more of their stuff from this and grow to love all of Muse too. And remember you don't have to appreciate every song an artist comes up with. If you like one song then that's ok. As long as some people go on and enjoy Muse's other music, I couldn't care less about the Twilight fangirls/boys.
The only "Twilighters" who piss me off are those who like Muse ONLY because of Twilight. Those people who don't actually care about the music, those who only listen to them because Stephenie Meyer is a fan. It's so fucking superficial and shallow.
But conversely, my friend, who I have mentioned before, found out about Muse through Twilight, and now owns every album except for Showbiz.
hi
Someone mentioned it eariler, I think, but the author of the Twilight series is a massive Muse fan and included loads of their stuff in her "Recommended playlist to listen to while making me filthy rich" shit.
"As of February 2, 2009 Muse has already made it into the studio and begun recording at least one song for their upcoming album. On microcuts.net, a news headline has stated that the album is slated for a September 2009 release, and a new tour of France, and most probably Europe is to follow in the fall.
In the February issue of Australian youth magazine jMag, released by radio station Triple J, it was said that Matt Bellamy had announced in the band's forum that he had written the "hardest song ever". He said "There's a new song in three parts, which I have been working on sporadically for many years. As a large percentage of the composition is orchestral... I've been arranging the orchestral elements myself, which is taking a long time." He hopes that the tracks will feature as the finale to their fifth album."
Can't wait.
Awesome.
I'm planning to go to at least two of Muse's gigs on their next UK tour.
Fuck fuck fuck.
If and when they come to Philadelphia, I am fucking going.
I am fucking going.
hi
I'll probably go see them once because thats how I roll.
I can't wait either.
They'll come to Chicago, and when they do, I'm going. I made a promise to my mom that no matter what, I'm going.
Last time they were here was Lollapalooza 2007 (That's like August 2007), the biggest annual festival in America. I wish I was there the past 2 years, 2008 had Radiohead, Bloc Party, Explosions in the Sky, and even RATM reunited to play a show there. I wasn't a fan of Muse back then, though.
eh.
Just thought I'd leave this top 10 here... (if you're going to reply about how Muse is too special to be ranked or something, shut up while you're ahead).

I heard their cover of HOTRS, a good cover - not a spot on the Animals though.

Probably one of their most underrated songs.

I'M SORRY, I JUST DON'T LIKE IT.
Besides, opinions etc.
I just downloaded the Newton Abbot Demo, and I'm listening to it right now. It's obviously nothing amazing, but dayum, did Muse sound different back then. A lot more grungy.

True, but to be fair it is their weakest album.

That's a matter of opinion. Personally I like the songs better than BH&R sometimes... I tend to go through phases with the albums.
BH&R doesn't have as many FUCK THIS SHIT IS KILLER songs as Showbiz imo, it's got Knights of Cydonia and Map of the Problematique but Showbiz has Showbiz, Sunburn, Unintended, Muscle Museum, etc.
Maybe in terms of 'less rubbish songs' BH&R wins but in terms of "more awesome songs" its definitely showbiz.

Yeah, BH&R is pretty boring.
Also guys, on iTunes a couple days ago there was a release of all the songs from the studio albums (Showbiz, Origin, Absolution, BH&R) for a good price of $30. That's like getting an album for free.
eh.
