Welcome to the Muse Crew!
Who are Muse?
Muse are Matt Bellamy (Vocals, Guitar, Piano), Chris Wolstenholme (Bass, Backing Vocals), and Dom Howard (Drums).
Muse are a batshit talented alternative band (mildly progressive as well)
Muse are a band reknowned for their insane live shows and Matt Bellamy's shuffle.
Muse are a band who have released 4 studio albums and one B-side/live set. In chronological order, they are Showbiz (1999), Origin Of Symmetry (2001), Absolution (2003), and Black Holes And Revelations (2006). The B-side/live set was Hullabaloo Soundtrack (2002)
Muse are a chart-topping band, with both BH&R and Absolution reaching #1 in the UK Album Charts, and Origin Of Symmetry reaching #3. Supermassive Black Hole reached #4, Time Is Running Out #8, Knights Of Cydonia #10,
Did you say insane live shows?
Damn straight I did. Great sets on youtube are Muse at Reading 2006, or even better, Muse at Glastonbury 2004. If you have any opportunity to go and see Muse, do so. In June they organised & headlined a 2-day 70,000 capacity mini-festival in Wembley Stadium.
What songs would you recommend I listen to?
Me personally:
Sunburn, Showbiz, Unintended. New Born, Bliss, Plug In Baby, Citizen Erased, Feeling Good. Time Is Running Out, Stockholm Syndrome, Hysteria, Butterflies And Hurricanes. Starlight, Supermassive Black Hole, Map Of The Problematique, Knights Of Cydonia.
When are they going to release new material?
God knows, but they are going to release a live DVD of their Wembley 2007 shows around Christmas, hopefully.
Is there somewhere I can find out more about them?
Muse official website. If you go to the media tab, you can listen to all of their albums (in full).
MuseWiki, their own wiki.
What thread rules are there?
Generic shit. No spamming. No flaming unless... well, fuck that. Flame if you want to. Don't be an ass about it though.
How do I join?
List your favourite Muse songs. Your 3, 10, 20 favourite songs, whatever. Favourite album, favourite fact, favourite live show, whatever. Just show that you have an interest in the band and you're more than welcome.
Other than that, nothing else to say, so just come in and make yourself at home. Feel free to steal my Muse sig (I have one for each album, just ask if you want a different one)
Well, i can´t say i´m a big fan of Muse or anything, but i do like a few of their tracks, mainly ´The time is running out´. Now that song was brilliant - loved the intro and vocals in that. I´ll have to get a bit more of their stuff.
Untill then thats all i can say, apart from nice first post!
I might as well join.
They were the first band I saw (not counting the bands previously in the day, you never count support anyway) at V2004. For free too I might add.
Back then I'd only heard 'Time is Running Out' and I didn't enjoy the show nearly as much as I could've.
I had a chance to see them for free at the end of last year too, same friend giving me a ticket as well, but it turned out that it wasn't possible. I was almost bummed (metaphorically).
I have Absolution and Hullabaloo. Though I've not actually listened to the latter.
Favourite songs:
New Born
Time is Running Out
Stockholm Syndrome
Falling Away with You
Hysteria
Thoughts of a Dying Athiest
Knights of Cydonia
Yeah.
Welcome, you two.
Also, Muse are having a EU tour this autum/winter. The tickets go on sale tomorrow morning.

Interesting.
I imagine my girlfriend will get tickets seeing as she's seen them once and is rich. And she can get me one :).
I gotta join, Muse are damn good.
Best songs: Citizen Erased, Knights of Cydonia, Bliss, Time is Running Out and most others.

I heart Muse. I saw them live last summer when they were touring after releasing Black Holes and Revelations. I was standing next to one of the speakers and when they started playing Hysteria I could feel the vibrations all through my body, it was pretty fucking awesome.
Favourite songs: Bliss, Hysteria, Map Of The Problematique, Muscle Museum, Sing For Absolution, Starlight, Supermassive Black Hole, Time is Running Out, New Born and Plug In Baby.
A friend in need is a friend indeed, but a friend with weed is better.

I'd heard various bits of Absolution on the radio (Time Is Running Out + Sing For Absolution), so got into them then, but it was a year or so until I actually got into them, checking out their back-catalogue and buying their albums. What triggered this was Another Day 5.
Still an amazing flash three years later.
Ah I looove Muse :D
My faviroute songs are Time is running Out, Bliss, Suppermassive Black Hole, Hysteria, Hyper Music, Plug in baby and a few more.
Faviroute fact? Well muse are from a town about 5 minutes away from where I live and my uncle met them before they were big performing at a party or something and the host said they were gonna be 'The next big thing' turns out he was right =] Oh and my grandad lives next door to the person who discovered and produced them in the beginning :)

Fancy that.

That's pretty fucking weird alright. I've been to Plaxtol a number of times, had a friend who used to live there.
Lucky him =(
Ah why was I not told of this clubs existance BBM
Top 3 songs:
Knights of Cydonia
Falling Away With You
Bliss (Live version though, they keyboard or harp one sucks compared to guitar)
Random Fact:
Matt claimed Elton John invited him to his hotel room in Vegas and was under the impression it was for... risque reasons. Also according to an interview in Australia hes keen on releasing an orchestral piece but not neccesarily as a CD but as 20 minutes internet thing.
I see them on Nov 10th woot.
Do they still play New Born live? Looking on the Hullabaloo DVD it seems to be their best piece, will I see it in November?

Yes. New Born is epic live, at Wembley Stadium, New Born was the second best song, IMO (1st was Citizen Erased). They WILL play New Born, I'm almost certain.
Almost certainties:
Sunburn
New Born
Bliss
Plug In Baby
Time Is Running Out
Stockholm Syndrome
Hysteria
Butterflies & Hurricanes
Take A Bow
Starlight
Supermassive Black Hole
Map Of The Problematique
Knights Of Cydonia
That said, I wasn't the only person to notice that they didn't play bliss on the saturday at Wembley (but did on the sunday).
Well I've got to get in on this then.
Top 3 songs:
1. Plug In Baby
2. Time Is Running Out
3. New Born
A fun fact is that I styled my hair like Matt's for a long time, and I've never got to go to a live show.

I'm a big fan of Muse - Saw them at last years Reading Festival and I was blown away.
Selection of Favorite choons:
Plug in Baby, New Born, Time is Running Out, Super Massive Black Hole, Knights of Cydonia, Assassin, Stockholm Syndrome, Citizen Erased and all the others.
I really just started getting into Muse the past couple months. They were really brought to my attention once I heard Hysteria. I feel as if I have to listen to that song at least twice everyday, because that song is that damn epic. I can't wait to see what Knights of Cydonia's going to be like on the next Guitar Hero, too.
Woo i like Muse! i saw them at wembley stadium. it was going to be the first ever concert there! untill stupid george micheal came along.

OH GOD IT'S LIKE BEING IN SCHOOL AGAIN!
I haven't been to that many concerts in my lifetime. At least Blackholes and Revelations on repeat got me through my holiday.
