Hi guys.
Did you guys know that Austria is part of the Axis of Evil(Bush said that) LOL
He said that we would trade with the terrorists of Iraq!
Because we have one politician who's very stupid and tries to be popular: his name is Jörg Haider and he made lots of journies to Iraq to give them "helpful stuff". He didn't do that, he just wanted to be popular and since he did that Bush even said that he might put sanctions upon us...isn't that ridiciulous? We are one of the weakest country's in whole europe and the whole world....
I just wanted your opinion for this ..

Don't worry too much about it. Bush is just looking for something else to bomb... Actually, come to think of it, maybe you should worry...

Bush thinks every country is a terrorist haven except the UK. I wouldn't worry about it, it'll be another year or so until he decides to bomb you.

He may have commented on Austria, but the only stated "Axis-of-Evil" (silly term) countries are Iraq (under Saddam), Iran, N. Korea, Syria and Afghanistan (under Taliban).

It was sodium they put in those burgers, Al Qaeuda has it masterly planned. They will take this sodium and put it in our drinking waters to kill us all!
But yes, be very afraid, the Bush War Machine(BWM for short, not to be confused with BMW) might be taking a trip to Austria. Why hasn't Bush used the "speak softly and carry a big stick" philosophy? He sounds like a dam howling monkey.

Apparently, the UK can be tied into this freaking ridiculous construct that is the Axis of Evil. How?
According to the usual, overly reliable sources, the Real IRA (as opposed to the Continuity IRA, Old IRA, Sinn Fein etc) have links to al-Qu'eda. Well duh, if they were selling cheap guns of bombs, you'd think that people would be interested, especially IRA splinter/hydra groups that want to carry on the work of their fathers, now they're backing out and going legit (ie, Non Terrorist). I just dumbed down the situation in Northern Ireland for your benefit, BE THANKFUL!!!
Propaganda is to a Democracy what violence is to a Dictatorship
Never underestimate the significance of "significant."

The use of the word "Axis" is mere propaganda, trying to compare our enemies with Hitler and Mussolini. To call our enemies "evil" shows intolerance, naiveté, and a refusal to admit America's own crimes that provoked our enemies to attack us.
It's hard to keep people interested in a war that has no battles. Peace doesn’t allow you to show your physical strength.

Yeah, no arguments from here...seems like most Americans have this stupid idea that we've never done anything wrong ever, and there is no reason at all for these groups to be angry with us.

Yup, and since Bush dosen't have a lot of policies and things he's done correctly here at home to point to as he goes up for re-election, he needs to keep the War on Terror running strong to help his re-election bid...I just hope people see through it when it comes time to go to the polls.

It was actually no joke. He even said that on TV. He said it before IraQ war and he said on TV lately:
The next states who might be set sanctions on are Lybia, Iran, Austria and some others...he actually said that but now..I don'T know

So Austria "helped" Iraq. As some of you may remember the US also helped Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war by selling chemical weapons to Iraq, if we are going to go after countries who have helped terrorists (It was after all the US who trained and funded Osama.) shouldn't we be looking at ourselves?
We in the US ourselves do not have a clean record. Why punish others for we have done ourselves?

At first, great first post :) Welcome to the BBS
Yeah, I agree with you. The USA delivered weapons and war stuff to Osama and also to IraQ. And then, Bush starts to "verbal attack" other countries who helped them too

If I were you, I wouldnt wotty about Bush attacking your country. Like most politicians, Bush talks a lot and probably is madly in love with the sound of his own voice. I must admit he did attack a lot in the last years, but he simply cannot afford to go to war again. America's dept has grown a lot during Bush's reing and he will have to face that problem eventually. He also lost a lot of credibility with his war with Iraq, and since Blair wont win his next elections, he's running out of allies for his wars against the "Axis of Evil" (How can a man responsible for so much deaths judge of whats good and evil anyway?).

You know, it's rapidly getting on my nerves that this Axis of Evil list is still around. I swear, George has probably got it on a posterboard, pinned up to the wall of the Oval Office, crossing off names with a sharpie. Forgive any nation who wants to engage in diplomacy or trade with a nation we don't like instead of just blowing it all to hell.

What President Bush needs to accept is that he can't control the way the entire world does its business. While he enjoys fighting under the guise of protecting democracy, it is democracy which allows nations to trade freely with whoever they want. Now, if solid evidence had come from Iraq showing that there are WMD's, I'm quite sure most nations would cut off any trade deals they had with Iraq and its allies. It's just a game of proof and influence.

I saw an article in a credible news/magazine in my country under the title "George Bush and his Axis of Evil"
My initial impressions were that it was someone gonna slag on bush, but it was talking about all the countries which bush is trying to take out and what they have done wrong, but yeah
As far as I can tell, America and UK are the only Axis of evil, their only motivation is money, or the fear of losing such, I really think its quite pathetic that human nature allows such twisted and fucked people into power and influence
As Billy Connolly once said "Anyone who shows an interest in becoming a politician, should be banned from ever being a politician"

I agree.
Yeah, instead he blames countries like mine which had some trade bindings to Iraq or to Osama should be flamed or should get get sanctions... it's terrible, I wonder why there wasn't any try to kill Bush...

I'm fed up with Bush "I am the king of the world" attitude. I just wish that one day he will make a step too far and then watch everything crumple. But that won't happen if all the other "leaders" just go around kissing his ass. Like at the EU-US meeting. I think that the thing that helps feed Bush's opinion about the rest of the world is the slave-to-master attitude that the rest of the world's leaders have for him. Greece too has sometimes been named as a terrorist haven and we don't do nothing about it.

I hate it when they use the term "evil". It just shows so much ignorance to just dub something totally evil, i figure its just a tool to sway public opinion, but its just so intolerant, like once they have deemed something evil, its basically lost its chance to fix itself, its just there, waiting to be bombed by the rightious.

Totally. The word 'evil' should be used for Satan only. A man can be a nasty fucker who may not deserve to breate the same oxygen as us, but he can't be evil.

I think it was 9/11...the sad thing to me is how POPULAR Bush is...people like us (read: intelligent and pay attention) may hate him...but joe schmo thinks he's doing good...I'm tired of Bushe's crap too...using terroism as an excuse to go blow something up to get what he wants
