The reason why everybody votes 5's

For all you clock day haters, the reason everyone votes 5's on clockday is a symbolic ritual dating back to the submission of B by strawberryclock, the first clock. Tom Fulp, the creator of NG, took pity on this spammer's pathetic attempt at spam and voted a 5, thus saving it. Now, every year, we honor that decision by voting 5's on every submission for 24 hours.

For me, Clock Day is not only a day to get insane numbers of protection points, it's a day to watch my short Flash loop about flying pickles get a score almost two points higher than one of my favorite projects, which is similar but many times better.
