I had like 2 threads which were indirectly related to Native Americans so I decided to bring 'em all here. If you have any thougts and/or questions about Native Americans, this should be the place for them.

First off, we all learned in grade school that Natives are actually men from estern Asia that came here across a land bridge that landed them in Alaska some 12 000 years ago. Well as it turns out, those things we learned were either lies or poor ethnocentric assumptions. Native Americans have been here for at least 200 000 years. That's 188 000 years before they were supposed to first have come here. But then again there are some findings that reveal some human remains in America that don't belong to any specific race. Your thoughts on this, people.

Have you ever heard about the Pyramids and the Mayan Architechture, and how it has surprising similarity? They were built (?) nearly at the same time, and both have pyramids that are similarly designed; both have perfect parallel lines, and I think both point towards a certain constilation. This is just so strange to think about, but its so intriguing at the same time.

Indeed, what are the odds of 2 completely isolated nations building pyramids at roughly the same time? Also, there is a Hopi(native american) prediction that the men from across the ocean will come to save the world and there is a Tibetan prediction that they must travel to the land of the red-skinned people to fulfill a sacred duty of some sort. Links will come after I get some sleep.

Hmmm, well In my school when we learned about the "land bridge" I was told it was ice or something and early humans followed game across it and it melted or broke behind them. But I was told it was only a theory. My teacher told us about 5 differnt ways that people could come to be in N.A.

I know, Im twisting the topic with this one, but here goes. Thoery's (kinda wierd, kinda bullshit): Aliens are our future selfs coming but to see what went wrong with our DNA; kinda hints towards a nuclear war. Plus, it goes with the catch and release deal (abduction).

Stranger yet:
Aliens are from another place. We were put here by them. They come to check on mutations of DNA and for evolutionary research so that they can try and understand their past...maybe we will do this in the distant future...a strange cycle. (So THATS how the Indians got to North America, go figure!!!)

So, Aliens are really "us" but there from the future trying to see how they lived long ago? Okay thats a little creepy. But... I .... guess... it "kind" of can make sense. (not much) but its hard to wrap your brain around it

I think most of it is random theories. When you think about it, what is easier to build than a Pyramid? It's basically a pile of stone, so if I had to go for something tall and big, that's what I'd go for in a pinch.
As for being oriented to the same constelations or whatever, they probably are oriented and disoriented to 20 other things. With that many stars, is it a wonder that you can match something?

And they were human, like the other side of the sea, meaning they probably though the same way, i.e. gods to explain most things and stuff like that. They were both pretty advanced in Math or so it seems, but then again, weren't the Chinese too?
And are you sure Pyramids where built at the same time as Aztec temples and whatnot... I think Pyramids are much older.

All-in-all, a small coicidence at best, and a proof that humans are capable of doing precise and grand things when they plan it out right. No need for E.T. bullcrap, although I'm not denying the possibility.

A land bridge joined present-day Alaska and Russia. The bridge "rose" from the ocean as vast amounts of ocean water became tied up in the enormous glaciers of the last ice age.

Why do you think the migrants came in the first place? I think it could have been due to some change in living conditions on the Asian side of the bridge. They could have been following herds of bison or other game that were wandering across the land bridge. Maybe they thought the grass was greener on the other side of the Bering Strait.

Fifteen thousand years ago, the American menagerie looked liked East Africa, with North American lions, cheetahs, saber-toothed cats, mammoths, and relatives of camels. Within a millennium or more, they were all gone. Scientists think they were exterminated by a huge wave of hunting by the first Americans.

Another theory that takes the +80 000 year old artefacts into evidence is that South America was first populated by either Asutralians or Africans who drifted ashore here like much those 5 fishermen who got caught in a tropical storm and ended up in South America [although only 3 survived] but as I recall no humans besides Homo Sapiens know what a boat is or how to build one. Even if they did build something remotely like a boat and got caught in a storm wouldn't they have been really really dead when they finally reached land? (the fishermen who drifted to South America a few years ago couldn't move at all, those who were still alive anyways). Furthermore, I think it would take more than a handful of people to populate a whole continent. I love proving theories wrong.

The regular's lounge thread would be a better place to chit-chat about stuff like this.

It probably says something about the human mind and pattern of development.

Whether they came from completely isolated cultures, or some sort of landbridge wouldn't really make a difference as had both been isolated at the time of the pyramid building.

There's just something about that shape.

Hopi Natives and Tibetans predicted each other's meeting and the end of the age of confusion.

Well if you didn't know already, the pyramid is said to have mystical powers...it even keeps food fresh, and razor blades sharp!

I'm pretty sure that's because it acts like a big freezer bag...
