100 Greatest Albums Voted by You. 2007-08-11 18:42:37 Reply

A while back, I tried to find out what everyone's favorite songs were and compile them into a playlist. But songs were too broad. So I've decided to try something a little easier.

In a the age where you can just buy one song for a buck or get that song for free illegally from P2P networks. It's hard to remember how people used to listen to music... through albums.

You can vote on a maximum of 10 albums. Also, greatest album doesn't mean it's your favorite. It's albums that are timeless classics. Albums that changed the world and a generation of listeners.

But if you somehow can't think of music-defying albums then post your favorites.

Voting ends on August 25th. You can vote by posting here or PM. I will post the results in another topic.

Some more random classics to add to the list. It's hard not to simply use the "Best Of" CD's that ultimately span the best of the artist's career.

- Let It Bleed (The Rolling Stones)
- Otis Blue (Otis Redding)
- Kind of Blue (Miles Davis)
- A Love Supreme (John Coltrane)
- In The Wee Small Hours (Frank Sinatra)
- Legend (Bob Marley)
- The Heart of Saturday Night (Tom Waits)
- Appetite for Destruction (Guns N' Roses)
- Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers (Wu-Tang Clan)
- Straight Outta Compton (N.W.A.)

This guy's list is more of what a list of MY FAVORITE albums would be like, but when I made my list, the main thing I took into account was the impact it made on the industry.

Also, I cannot believe I've finally found another person who likes the Adolescents. Kids of the Black Hole, FTMFW!

Yeah, I kinda did a bit of both. I put my favorites, but I only put ones that made SOME sort of impact in the musical world, at least.

Seen them three times and counting... would be four today, but I can't go to tonight's show...
