I am from Panama, although I currently reside in Canada.
one thing I want to point out though:
I really can't understand why everytime people say or refer to someone being "american" in instantly recognized to be from the US. I mean, America is technically the whole continent, not just that country, so even people way down south or here in Canada, in any country they should be able to say they are american because they live in the continent named America.
I would like to know when people started refering to the US as america, I am not anti-US or anything, but this really bugs me, just why? I think that shouldn't be.
