OSHI.
This one sentence fucked us ALL OVER!
If black holes are produced, they are expected to evaporate almost immediately via Hawking radiation and thus be harmless, although the existence of Hawking radiation is currently unconfirmed.
Goodbye, everyone. ;__;

I remember hearing about this before on Newgrounds, at the time I believe I was for it. Now, though I don't believe anything negative will come out of this, the possibility for something so destructive to occur should outweigh their thirst for knowledge. They're putting the whole world in jeopardy for mere knowledge. Surely lives are worth more than scientific gain. What use is science when we're all dead?

I hope that wheelchair-bound bastard is wrong, then. Black hole would rock.
We should make some sort of stellar landmark sign outside of the potential event horizon, saying "EARTH USED TO BE HERE, BUT WE'RE HARDCORE". All the aliens will think we're the shit.

I like Frankie Boyle's suggestion of what will happen upon it's completion. Everything with fade to black, and big sign will come up saying "Level 2".

Nope. Made it specifically for this post.
I use text images like that to convey symbols and text that couldn't otherwise be conveyed. Here's another example:
So often times it happens, that we live our lives in chains, and we never even know we had the key...

heh for some reason my browser bolds or antialiases or whatever the text so I can easily tell the difference.

hahahaha (i lol'd) that would be hilarious........"they're so hardcore they sucked their own earth in a blackhole" that's what the aliens would think...but would't the landmark get sucked in to?

That's why it'd be outside the event horizon, so unless my admittedly-shitty grasp of physics is flawed, it wouldn't be affected by its gravitational pull.
Edit to sign text: "We told you we were hardcore."

Wait a minute... the LHC? I read about this. Any black holes produced as of yet have evaporated in about 0.00000000000000000000001 second. You can't really eat the universe in that time.

It can't possibly be worse than the Aztecs' predictions.

Because the scientists were so too busy thinking about if they could, rather than if they should.
I think I'll attempt to reply to every thread using only quotes from Jurassic Park.

The probability of that accident is so remote. What we need is a machine that has a high chance of doing this, that way we can intimidate other countrys.

Y'know, I know it's already been posted, but we would be total badasses if we destroyes the universe after only 200,000 years of being around.
