You would have to insert the DNA into all of the cells of that organism. Cloning is done at the fertilization stage because the DNA only has to be inserted into one cell. The more cells there are, the harder it would be. It would be impossible in practice to insert enough DNA into a living, grown or adolescent, or even baby human to make any sort of genetical difference.
