What if mods were regular members?

What would you think if the mods we have today weren't mods at all? Would they still be tough as they are now or be regular member like us? Just think about this for a second.

-For instance:
Bigbadron: You see he has a sig with the so called "Banstick" on it. What other sig would he have if he wasn't mod? :)

I remember before FUNK, Maus, aviewaskewed, Proteas, JoS and SevenSeize were made mods; they were just as funny and friendly as they are now.

It would be like normal, except we wouldn't be able to ban users or lock/delete topics. We pretty much are normal users, except with some added responsibilities.

I was a reg for 6 years prior to being a mod, became a mod, realised it was not as fun as it cut out to be, became a reg again.
And, all mods were once regs, well 95 percent were at least.

I saw most regs either go or get modded from my days.

And I just happened to be on the other side of the country working lately, so that explains my absence.

You'd get all these idiots just running amuck without any kind of restrictions, and sure it may sound fun, but what would be fun about it? The fact that you could have porn in your sigs? Man, that would suck for me if I just became a mod and someone took that power away. But, there would have to be a reason though why they took it away. :/
