Flash Reg's Uk Meetup 07 Innit

Rather than spam the Flash Reg Thread I think its about time theres a thread exclusive to questions/comments regarding the meetup. Its about a month a way so theres no exact info beyond the date atm. Open to suggestions on things to do / people to invite .... im tentative to post a list of people coming until the date is closer.. i can tell you that im pretty much stuck coming because my flight is booked. :)

What: Coming off the success of Comic Con, mod meetups and Montreal meetups, I felt it was time the European ones got a chance to mingle with fellow NG nerds.. maybe we can have a beer or twenty.

Where: Somewhere in London.. you people that live in England should come up with ideas...
Who: No list available yet, but anyone ng related is welcome.. you probably get more out of it if youre part of the forum/portal scene in some way.
Why: It's about time thats why. That and I never been to Europe.
How: I'll be taking a plane, dunno about you all...

I'll be there. Hopefully. That was the weekend I was planning on moving back to Canterbury =P Still, that's easy enough to rearrange. This meet up should be ace (once we find something to do ;D ). Also, tell Denvish about this.

and JonThomson although hes really quiet and hard to understand.. his english is thick like my pubes.

Anyway i went ahead and got a suite at Club Quarters, Gracechurch. Seemed economical and from what ive been told getting the cheapest room in england gives you a room about the size of a shoebox.. so i got the best one possible.. so now im in one the size of a suitcase. UPGRADE.

Looks nice. It's near Cannon St. and a few tube stations as well. So it should be easy to get around.

Sorry if that's nowhere near where you are meeting I've never been to England, although I have a british flasg next to me at this very moment to remind me how awesome their accent is. :p Sounds like Jolly good fun! Too bad I'm to young/broke for that sort of thing.

Okay. I'm definately meeting for this.
As for my recommendation for place to meet up. Namco Station on the County Hall, just outside the London Eye. Easy enough to find (look for the fucking huge clock and big wheel and you're close...), suitably geeky enough a venue full of arcade machines, central enough to get around the rest of London via the Tube (closest overland train station is Waterloo Station, which is only two lines from Kings Cross/St Pancras), and last I checked they serve alcohol there. Would be a good place to start.

Now to drag as many people I know into this meetup as I can...

Yeah. Derby, says so on my profile. Which is a direct Midland Mainline route to the City.

If you book early enough, a travelcard through London is very, very cheap. And will get you a full day of travel around the tubes and buses for a day...

I do want to say that while we should try and have a good number of people around i dont tthink we should have TOO many.. one of the issues i had with comic con and mod meets is that our group got too big and its hard to really get into places without a huge fuss.... for whatever reason establishments cringe when theres a single party of 23....

dont know if that sort of thing poses a problem where you all are

Only for 6 months of the year. I got to University in Canterbury. Starting my second year in Sept. We get to do Maya this year and also C# I think.

Yeah there's a tube station there, St. Pancreas. I looked it up, it's on like 6 lines so you'll be able to get about no problem. You should be able to travelcard from any ticket booth at the station. Or any corner shop too.
