When I get on the internet, I usually go through my "favorites" sites, which partly consist of several left-wing blogs and newsites. I would like to add some right-wing sites as well in order to balance what I'm reading each day - I though people could list the newsites/blogs that they though were the best (or most informative or entertaining or whatever) in this topic. Here's a few of mine:

www.guerrillanews.com
www.workingforchange.com
www.salon.com
www.thismodernworld.com
www.counterpunch.com
www.bushwatch.com

Piece of advice, if you want unrestricted news, look to Canada. They don't fix the news as much up there as the US does.

www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/

Always a good source of purely textbook data.

I find that the BBC site is pretty straight too, I usually check that for international news.

If you want a Right Wing blog, read Turnabout. He discusses a bit of Catholicism, too, but read it for the politics.

The BBC is pretty good, but the BBC Newsnight is really Biased. Are the French/German News Networks biased?
