Some people are sympathetic to animals, which is fine and all.
However it doesn't make sense to me since plants, and fungus were living too.

It's either that, for taste disagreement, or health reasons and/or diets.

My mother, sister, girlfriend, and girlfriend's family are all vegetarians (some vegan's in my girlfriend's family, too). My mother and girlfriend do it for moral reasons (my girlfriend was raised as a vegetarian and my mother choose to be one when she was a teenager), but my sister only became one recently and did it for health reasons.

Well, you don't get to eat as much, the calories in vegetables are low and are VERY good for you, a whole lot of benefits from eating it, but one flaw is that you don't eat meat, which means no muscle.

OMG DID YOU SEE WHAT THEY DID TO THOSE POOR PIGS? I cried for three hours and wrote about in my hip and stylish blog. Later I talked to a counselor who decided I should turn vegetarian! Now I'm happy with my life knowing that poor animals won't die because of me yay!

That is in no way true.

Muscles require protein, and although meat is probably the highest protein food out there, you can get plenty of that from eating nuts, cheese, beans, soy, eggs, tofu, etc.
